Publisher's summary

The Fairy Tale Cupcakes crew helps two professional football players in knead when the athletes are accused of murder and their dream of opening a bakery is crushed.

Professional football players Keogh Graham and Tyler Matthews want to open a Fairy Tale Cupcakes Bakery franchise. They're spending the off-season in Scottsdale working in Mel’s bakery, learning about the business and how to bake show-stopping cupcakes. The popular athletes bring a boom of customers to the store as football fans flock to see the brothers at work, mixing batter and piping icing.

Everyone's excited the athletes are pursuing their dream of owning a bakery—except for those who fear the players will ditch football for fondant and retire early from professional sports. The angry naysayers include their team owner, sports agent, and publicist, along with some very vocal fans.

When the owner of their team, the Arizona Scorpions, is found dead on the floor of their new bakery following an argument with Keogh, Keogh and Tyler become prime suspects. As the investigation heats up, Mel and the rest of the cupcake bakery crew must step up and prove their franchise owners are innocent before it's game-over for the new bakers.

Who are these strangers?!?

I feel like I’ve lost old friends I’ve been waiting to hear their voices and they sound like strangers. Marty’s funny voice-GONE! Ray’s NY accent–GONE! Ang, Me,Tate, Joe, Oz, Uncle Stan–all GONE. In their place? Bland voices.

great characters and interesting story

This has been a really entertaining series. I love baking so it was wonderful to have recipes in this book. Either I am losing it or the narrator was different. I liked th err other one better. Sorry I don't know their names. Shame on me. The narration was really very well done just different.

Missing my old friends

The story was good but I definitely missed the prior narrator. It wasn’t bad but this is my comfort series so the change made me sad and distracted me from the story.

Why was the narrator changed?

Overall, the story was okay, but I didn't know who was talking for the first half of the book. It was confusing until I got used to the new voices. Also, the 'never a "good time" subplot is so played out. As soon as she didn't get to tell Joe the first time, I knew that meant it wouldn't be revealed until the last chapter of the book. It was just so incredibly predictable. But I did enjoy the story overall.

just plain silly

I have read the whole serie. This one was such a disappointment. I even bought it post release. The story line was just silly.

The chemistry is gone

Narrator change after so much time invested was off putting and couldn’t finish the book.

The change in narrator

I really like this series, the change of narrator not so much. She did good but the prevoís one nailed the personalities of the characters. His ever funny punchline too. The sudden change was odd. I also wish some of the regular characters appeared more, Marty, Olivia, Angie, uncle Stan and oz. The killer was predictable, I thought it should have been the stalker.
