Publisher's summary

Fallon McLeod has gifts any warrior would covet-fierce strength, unmatched skill, even immortality. But those gifts have come at a price that puts everyone he loves at risk. Only when his brother, Quinn, is taken captive does Fallon leave the seclusion of his Highland home to seek the king's aid. And though every woman at court would gladly be his for the asking, one alone causes desire to roar to life within him: beautiful, mysterious Larena Monroe.

Rumors swirl around the castle about "The McLeod" but Larena knows the truth. Like Fallon, Larena is searching for a way to vanquish the evil Druid who wants to wreak havoc on earth. Drawn to Fallon in spite of her fear, she surrenders to a passion that shocks them both with its raw intensity. But Larena dares not hope for more - not when she holds a secret that could turn her fiery Highland love against her forever....

Critic reviews

"Totally captivating, a book not to be put down or partially read. A wonderful plot, characters with unexpected depth and honor and an extremely moving love story will have readers clamoring for book three." ( Romantic Times)

Awwwww.

What did you love best about Forbidden Highlander?

Fallon's awkwardness in the castle.

What other book might you compare Forbidden Highlander to and why?

Larissa Ione's Rogue Rider. They are both stories about redemption.

What does Antony Ferguson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His articulation really makes you feel like you are in Scotland.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The McLeod Returns

A must for P/R fans

Once you start on this Series you will find it hard to stop listening as they catch your imagination as D.G. begins to share with us her fantasy world set in the Highlands in the early 1600's about the hunky handsome and very fit MacLeod brothers.

Firstly, this series should absolutely be listened to in order as they are leading towards the ultimate battle between good v evil - the MacLeod brothers are all Warriors who hold a part of the God of Revenge inside them which can turn them into raging fighting beasts as they are constantly attacked by the leader of the evil Druids (called droughs) Deidre and her minions. Good Druids are called mie's who can be turned into droughs by Deidre to be used in her army intent on world domination and obliteration.

This is Fallon's story, now it's not as intense as others, but still a 'must' in the series however it's more of a stepping stone to book 3 when they try to rescue Quinn who has been captured by Deidre. They are 'adult' listening books and get more so further into the series and there's great characters with instant chemistry between them who have to battle to survive.

Worth a credit? Definitely YES but please don't be put off the series if you find this listen slightly lacking in action compared to the first book - it does have it's share but much much more is to come in book 3.

Larena and Fallon

This book is more in depth about the wyvern and Diedre. We find out about one of Deirdre's warrior who seems to be an undercover type man who is helping the McLeod's.
This is about how Larena and Fallen meet. We also learn more about the scroll of family names and have primeval gods in their family.
The narrator did an okay job, but I didn't care for the voice he does for Diedre.

Love this series

I love this series but OMG could we get a female to do the voices for the women? Deirdre’s voice always makes me cringe.

Fallon and Larena

This is the second book in the Dark Sword series and is a part of the greater Dark World. Donna Grant does create a wonderful world, with many fantastical creatures. So, if you find this book compelling and entertaining, the world does continue and evolve. This series was read as a part of the Audible Escape package.

This is the story of Fallon and Larena. He is the eldest MacLeod brother and has the gift of teleporting. She is the only female warrior and has the gift of invisibility. Fallon is looking for something that Lorena has, an item she is sworn to protect. As with all secrets, they come out and the duo have to overcome trust issues all while fighting the evil drough Diedre

Narrator ruined the voice of Deidre not believable

Narrator ruined the voice of Deidre - not believable as a female. Especially not the beautiful seductress she was suppose to be. Not the scary villain that all the men hated and feared. It boggles my mind... Do they not listen to the narrator? He uses this weird old lady/old man voice....

Mind Numbing & Boring

I’m a fan of Paranormal. Just NOT this. Wish I hadn’t wasted a credit or my time.

Pretty Cheesy

I’m really trying to like this series but, it is so predictable and there are so many cheesy lines. In Addition, Anthony Ferguson, the narrator, does not do women’s voices well. He also does not narrate sensual scenes well and his speech does not come across sexy, at all.
