Texas cowboy Shea Montgomery has plans. Big plans. Still mourning the loss of his beloved father, he’s finally ready to sell the Forget Me Not ranch. He’s dusting off his boots, packing up his cowboy hat, and moving to New York City to make his dreams come true. So what if he won’t have his horse to ride or a place to call home? He’ll make it work. Somehow. First, he has to deal with a bunch of corporate types who don’t know the front end of a horse from the back. Especially this one guy who can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Or out of Shea’s mind.
Jake Axelrod’s perfect family is shattered when his daughter stops speaking and his husband ends their marriage. Two years later, she remains locked in silence, and Jake has closed himself off. His life is structured to the minute, and Jake is convinced he’ll be alone forever, until he’s forced to attend a company retreat at a dude ranch in Texas, where he meets a cowboy who sends him spinning out of control.
Jake can’t help falling...off his horse, out of a rowboat, and into Shea’s arms.
And Shea is more than willing to catch him.
Neither man wants to let go, and the time they spend together only makes it harder to be apart. A decision needs to be made: work it out or say good-bye. Jake’s life is in New York, but he can’t walk away from Shea or the ranch, and Shea must decide if the dream of a lifetime will lead him right back to the place where he started - where his heart belongs.

Then you have the City Slickers who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, where people never sleep and the trains run 24/7.
As we delve into this fabulous work from Felice Stevens nothing is what it's cracked up to be. The only thing that matters is having that special someone, a love you thought you never deserve, friends and family (non blood related) who will always be there for you.
This is a feel good romance with low angst, HEA and Second chance.
Thank you Author for giving us Jake and Shea's story, and thank you Tristan James for giving them a voice.
I recommend.

Leave it to Felice to make a romance in a western setting so swoon-worthy! I have devoured so many of her works and I've particularly enjoyed those set in New York City. But this delight has produced a scorching hot and tender novel which centers around a Texas ranch called the Forget Me Not. Shea is everyone's fantasy cowboy. Fanning self, despite being in a freezing room. He is handsome and has even done some modeling for “drum roll” underwear ads. He feels an obligation to the ranch even though he yearns to be living in the big city and taking a chance on a modeling career.
His Dad recently passed away and the two had a very special and close relationship. He couldn't leave while his father battled his illness and now he's still working on the ranch where he meets an HR executive named Jake and is not prepared for his fiery attraction. Shea has a lot on his plate, dealing with the death of a beloved parent, obligation to the ranch and now Jake.
Jake has a precious daughter that became mute without any plausible explanation. His husband was a jerk who couldn't handle the pressure of not having a perfect child and left them both. Jake loves his time at the ranch and decides it might be a nice experience for his daughter.
I teared up as a little girl flourished and gained confidence at the ranch. She's simply blossomed and the animals were almost healing with their charming interactions. Can this perfect Ranch heal the troubled little girl?
If you love cowboys, kids and animals you're in for a major treat. I highly recommend this tender romance of two men trying to figure out how they can make the distance between them work and help a little girl in the process.

Dang this narrator, I loved his southern twang. The easy and soothing voice of Shea was a delight. It was very easy to differentiate the various characters which is always important to me. The production was professionally done and so very perfect to melt into. I love being transformed to different places and this audio made me feel I was in a wonderful ranch filled with down-to-earth people.
The passion between Jake and Shea was well-represented. I loved how strong the relationship became and I was caught up in their feelings and emotions. Reading the book I enjoyed the descriptions of the scenery but hearing it in the audio made it feel even more real. That scene where Jake nearly drowned and is reunited with his daughter made me cry. The audio was a perfect complement to this fabulous story and I highly recommend it.
Dang It's beautiful!

I love the way that Felice portrayed her characters and the narrator did a superb job in doing the voices but carried an accent into one of the other characters that did not have one. The flow of the story was great and liked the way that the narrator paused between chapters and didn’t do a run-on of the words.
The story is about two men, one trying to get away and another needing to find himself and help his daughter. The first interaction, with false suppositions, led the story into an interesting plot of how the truth would come out. After that, the characters took on a life of their own and led to a great read.

The one thing that really stood out for me about this book is the warmth the author was able to express in her characters and in the overall story. I cannot explain it very well, but I could feel the warmth and depth of the two guys and it made the romance better. Yes, there is a real romance.
Throw in Tristan James, who is one of my favorites, and you have a very enjoyable listen.
It's light, breezy, sexy, and sweet.
Brings very few tears, a few laughs, and a whole lot of feel good.
