Sweet Christian Romance

Fern was not pleased at all when her parents sent her away to remove her from the company of a man they disapproved of, but in the end she finds the meaning of true love and in the process finds the love of her life. This is truly a sweet story of romance and spiritual growth. In the end Fern sends her Forget-Me-Not cookies to the right man! This was clearly an encouragement for young people to listen to and obey their parents, showing respect for their guidance even when it seems off the mark. I enjoyed this part of the book. Good teaching woven into a good story. I always enjoy Ms. Hopkins' books and can always recommend them without hesitation.

The narration was very good and brought the characters to life.

I requested this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Holding Out for True Love

Wonderful story to listen to. Fern went behind her parents wishes, to see a man they did not like. Her punishment is to be sent away from him. Hopefully, she will learn a lesson. She will stay with a host family. This family has a daughter and a son, John. John is shy, but it seems, Fern brings out the best in him. So much so, that she is starting to have feelings for him. While going to school, she is helping at the house, by baking. One of the items is Forget Me Not cookies. After Christmas break, she makes them for John. The Lord has guided her in this decision.
I was given a copy of this audiobook by the author for an honest review.

Sweet

This was a very nice sweet clean romance! There was a lot of references to cooking, baking, and sewing just as the title hints at, but it was tastefully interjected in. The story deals with listening to God instead of doing whatever pleases you.

Sweet Romance

Loved this story! There is a big difference between infatuation and loving someone. Fern learns that in this story.
The narrator did a good job as well. Definitely one I’ll listen to again.

Fern likes to bake!

Fern is every young girl. Infatuated with the good looking boy that holds a reputation. We all know the girl who is attracted to the bad boy, but all she could see was how he loved her. Or did he? Her parents knew his background and was not happy with the match, so sending her off to school in another town may be the answer. Rebellious? Yes she is, but after settling in to her new home with the family that took her in, she began to start her new life. That doesn't mean she ever stopped thinking about him. The son of the family she is staying with takes a liking to Fern, but she can't possibly like him too. Her heart isn't his, or is it? I loved this story for a few reasons. I love the faith that is woven into the story. It always helps bring out the true meaning of God and live. I loved the idea that Fern realizes that her parents may just have the best of intentions for her. And I love John, his patience and the way these two fell in love. It's a wonderful listen and of course, macarons...who can resist them?

Jennifer Groberg continues her narration of the series and she nails this story. Each character has the best voice chosen for them. From Fern's arrogant boyfriend, to angry Fern, to shy John, she finds their personality and makes each come alive. I enjoyed her performance.

Excellent Christian story: faith, love & family

I love this heartfelt story so much that I've listened to it twice already. I'm sure I'll be listening to it again & again for the joy it brings. I especially appreciate its Christian values, how the characters respect others & lean their trust on God. Their Christian faith gives them strength to put aside worldly desires & rely on God's will. It's a great story for any age but can be particularly nice for young women approaching dating age. It ended so beautifully that it brought tears of joy.
