About this listen

Remington Lawson has always been the man who ran things around the small town of Gloombridge.

Being a man with money, he has a lot of influence and power but never lets that take away from the laid-back person he is. A leader of two businesses, Remi has a lot on his plate. When someone close to him tries to sabotage his livelihood, Remi is out for blood. Will he find out who is behind it?

Enslei Raynor thought she had it all—a good job, a loving and devoted husband, and a best friend who was loyal to her. All that crashes down on her on a rainy day. Left heartbroken, confused, and alone, she leaves behind the life she's always known. Will she be able to bounce back from agonizing losses, or will she stay defeated?

The sound of Enslei's voice captures Remi's attention before the sight of her does. Since he has always been a man who goes after what he wants, he wastes no time making Enslei his. With the pain she carries, will Enslei be willing to give a man like Remi a chance, or will she continue to be alone?

It was ok

This book did not hold my attention and was a little drawn out. Enslei’s back and forth with leaving Remi was tiresome.

I didn’t fully understand how Remi actually helping his brother was an issue.

The female narrator is not my favorite and may have contributed to the story not holding my attention.

It had potential

I see the potential in the storyline, it's just lacking in a lot of areas. It's kind of all over the place. Narration is key, the male narrator he was good. But the female this Laura Lacy her voice is not good for narrating stories.
