Can out-and-proud high school teacher Skyler Foxe find the Redlands firebug before he falls prey to a killer?
High school English teacher Skyler Foxe is now out and proud, even though a few months ago he had no intention of being so. But since the cat is now out of the bag, he embraces it as well as his boyfriend, head football coach, Keith Fletcher.
But who is that good-looking gay parent hanging around Keith, causing mischief at the school as well as in Skyler's private life? And then someone from Skyler's past returns, stirring up trouble. Add to that a firebug and suddenly everyone seems up to no good, especially when a smoldering corpse is found outside of the local gay bar.
Skyler can't help himself and he gets up to his old sleuthing tricks once more.

If you could sum up Foxe Fire in three words, what would they be?
Fun, Fire, FriendsWhat was one of the most memorable moments of Foxe Fire?
The whole book! I absolutely love this series by Haley Walsh! She hit gold with this character and the stories. And each one brings us a little more character development, not only for Skyler, but his friends, family and lover Keith as well.Which character – as performed by Joel Leslie – was your favorite?
Skyler is my favorite, probably followed by Keith, Sydney and Jaime, Phillip and Rodolfo. But, Joel Leslie brings every single character in these books to life in some way, pitch of the voices, accents, etc. I can't imagine anyone else narrating this series. Just perfect! Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The development of Skyler and Keith's relationship is always great, getting stronger with each book. Skyler's reaction when he realizes his mother and father are fooling around again was intense, but understandable. But as he comes to realize that they are happy and his mother is taking the relationship for what it is and not expecting anything more, Skyler begins to see that they know what they are doing and he comes to accept it.Any additional comments?
Each book develops the characters more and I am so enjoying this series, I have listened to them all twice now and may be due for a third listen soon!Skyler Foxe can't keep out of trouble!

Would you listen to Foxe Fire again? Why?
I don't usually listen to books twice... but Leslie's performance is certainly worth savoring. His comedic timing and range of characters is delicious. What did you like best about this story?
Not to give a spoiler - but it was really nice to see Jamie find someone who loves him as much as I do! He's always been my favorite and Dave the fireman could be a great addition to the SFC.Which scene was your favorite?
The ones where the whole gang is arguing are always the most delightful :)If you could take any character from Foxe Fire out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Jamie... hands down. He's a riot... I kinda feel like he should have his own talk show.Any additional comments?
If you haven't given this series a try you are really missing out. The stories are hilarious, the sex is hot and the narration is infectious.Foxe is always Fabulous

Would you consider the audio edition of Foxe Fire to be better than the print version?
I only listened to the audio version so I can't tell. You don't need the print version here. I listen to the book while driving; never needed to pause and wonder: What? Who was that? and such. What was one of the most memorable moments of Foxe Fire?
When Foxe calls his mother on the phone and she sounds busy with..Which character – as performed by Joel Leslie – was your favorite?
All of them! Maybe Rudy, because he sounds funny with the accent. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The injustice to Foxe and the parent (can't remember his name). I felt so sorry for him. He is such a nice guy.Any additional comments?
though this is my least favorite book in the series; it still ranks high. Just like the other books in the series you get: mystery, love drama, funny friends, cool school kids.Another Foxe read

My favorite TSTL English teacher / amateur sleuth Skyler Foxe is back! This series is just plain fun to listen to. Part of that is due to the wonderful performance of narrator Joel Leslie, but mostly it's due to Haley Walsh dependably writing interesting characters and plots.Foxe Fire has multiple plots happening, including a firebug in Redlands and a couple of murders, both of which Sklyer Foxe insinuates himself into the middle of once again. I swear, if this character wasn't so likable, I'd wish he was real just so I could strangle him to death. The situations he gets himself into. Seriously TSTL. But Walsh makes it fun to read/listen to Skyler's latest shenanigans, and, of course, Skyler's friends from the SFC are around to wade into the deep end with him. There is such a great ensemble cast to these stories.
My only negative was the miscommunication between Skyler and boyfriend Keith that drove me a little insane and took a while to clear up. Otherwise, this was just good fun.
As for the narration, one of the things about Joel Leslie that consistently fascinates and amazes me is just how many distinct character voices he does, and does well. I love how immersive his narration is, drawing me into each story and keeping my interest until "the end". He's reliably entertaining to listen to and I always enjoy his performance.
Bottom line: Fun, silly, humorous, sexy, and sometimes over the top, this mystery series keeps getting better with one of the most endearing TSTL characters who manages to keep growing on me.
Mystery series keeps getting better!
