Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author John Lutz brings back his popular homicide detective Frank Quinn in a gritty, fast-paced serial killer thriller, and like Jeffery Deaver and Harlan Coben, twists an ingenious plot driven by a murderer who will stop at nothing - and a P.I. who is equally determined to stop his reign of terror.

Six dead women in a hotel room. Five of them students, still in their teens. Tied up. Tortured. The NYPD recognizes the suspect’s signature - three bloody initials carved into each victim’s forehead. Ex-cop Frank Quinn has faced this madman before. Both bear scars from their last encounter. Killer and cop, hunter and prey… In a deadly game of matched wits, only one can prevail. It’s not just about who gets killed. It’s about who will survive.

Wow! Another good book in the series.

Another good book in the series. I really am enjoying it.

If you like serial killer books this is a series for you.

Great characters and great character development.

That’s for the narration, Scott Brick is amazing.

Art and history become the mystery

Scott Brick again enhances this engaging tale as a number of very Impressive Nobel characters. Satisfying finale. Quinn, DOA, Castle, Pearl and Weaver are all worthy of a sequel.

Another Lutz success!

Enjoyed "Frenzy". Story held my interest and as usual, Scott Brick is fantastic as a narrator. Readers won't be disappointed with this one.

Stay with it.

I nearly stopped listening about an hour or so in, but after a little longer, more of the threads started coming together and then it was better. Not great. But better. I'll keep buying these for now. Was REALLY GLAD one character was not in this one. I won't say who but she was in the previous books and added zero to the books. Good choice to leave her out.

John Lutz & Scott Brick r a great suspense team

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES! This is such a good book. John Lutz writes some very sick characters, they are not for the reader who doesn't like vivid graphic descriptions. But, for people who do his books are so full of nail biting edge of the seat suspense.

What did you like best about this story?

I love how this and many of John Lutz books travel back to historic events and create characters who were not just born seriel killers but instead were made over the course of decades.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

Scott Brick could read a geography book and make it sound exciting. So I would have to say ALL!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I did.

Any additional comments?

I can't go into detail but I honestly believe this is one of Lutz best works. The story spans a 60 +/- year period. It has a coherent story line that goes from future to past and brings everything together in the end. It is very plausible to see how this seriel killer was made. I highly recommend this book, if you've never read/listened to any of the other Frank Quinn books this can be read as a stand alone but I do enjoy the familiarity with the characters and building the on relationships I am familiar with.

DOA

Book was ok, not one of my favorites by Lutz, but worth the credit. Scott Brick is always fantastic and can bring an ok book to a great book

Unbelievable --disappointing story line

Well...this novel should have been listed as a supernatural thriller. It's not a mystery or detective story because the villain is so unbelievably clever. And, there are lots of scenes of torture of women so avoid this book if you find it disturbing. In fact, most of the female characters are so one dimensional (and pretty stupid) that it really detracts from the story. Add to that....it's way too long!

Don't waste a credit!
