Eckhart Tolle
About this listen
Eckhart Tolle brings us a much-needed message of hope, revealing how we each have a role in leading humanity in a new direction.
As the perils of our world seem to escalate beyond control, how can we reverse the direction we appear to be heading? According to Eckhart Tolle, the answer lies in discovering a deeper level of awareness both individually and collectively. From Chaos to Consciousness brings you seven solution-oriented sessions on how to rise above the incessant “voice in the head” that leads to so much confusion and conflict—and act on our challenges with wisdom and compassion. This progressive exploration of some of Eckhart Tolle’s most helpful and direct teachings includes:
Session 1
• “Just listen”—a powerful practice in the face of differing opinions
• Overcoming fear and its harmful effects
• Love and the recognition of oneness
Session 2
• The fine line between consciousness and unconsciousness
• How “the bad things” in life propel evolution
• Self-transcendence and the stopping of the mind
Session 3
• How nonconceptual knowing transforms all of your relationships
• Practicing detachment
• Gratitude and appreciation
Session 4
• Breaking the cycle of gain and loss
• Sensing both the “foreground” of your experience and the “background awareness”
• “Cultivating your garden”—your state of consciousness—as you seek to change the world
Session 5
• The opportunity in loss
• The practice of “letting it go” when a conversation turns heated
• The indestructible essence in all of life
Session 6
• The shift in identity from a story of experiences to the experiencer called consciousness
• Religious and materialist worldviews
• Forgiveness and freedom from the past
Session 7
• The dissatisfaction of the personal identity
• The cultural shift from yang to yin energy
• The ego’s need for antagonism and othering
“The state of consciousness I call Presence is where wisdom arises,” teaches Eckhart. “The world will change when people no longer create suffering out of unconsciousness. And you are at the stage where this shift can happen.” From Chaos to Consciousness is your invitation to embrace this vital shift.

Story
We tend to think of meditation as a formal practice we block time out for each day. But what if every moment of your life was your meditation? For Eckhart Tolle, meditation shouldn't be approached as a chore or a means to an end. Rather, meditation is something that you live. "The aim of meditation," states Eckhart, "is that it eventually becomes your normal state of consciousness." Essential Meditations with Eckhart Tolle points the way toward this quiet, constant state of Presence - where practice gives way to the realization of your innermost identity.

When challenges arise in your life, what happens inside of you? For many of us, the larger the problem, the more we resist, contract, and react unconsciously. On the other hand, explains Eckhart Tolle, in any given moment we have the chance to remain open to life, align with what is, and experience the natural sense of peace and aliveness that he calls "the joy of being".

We are all witnessing—and participating in—an evolutionary story. And we will all determine how the plot unfolds. This is the premise of Conscious Evolution, an impassioned and inspiring audio program with Eckhart Tolle. “The world always moves between order and chaos,” he explains. “And in the present time, anybody who is not awakening spiritually, even to some extent, will be drawn into deeper unconsciousness.” Now, he shares four sessions of practical insights and teachings to help you become a “bringer of consciousness” in this precarious era.

When we hear the word “purpose,” we tend to think about striving to reach a certain goal in the future. “There is another kind of purpose that has nothing to do with time,” explains Eckhart Tolle. “This is your primary purpose—to be here fully in whatever you do so that the preciousness of the present moment remains paramount.” With Finding Your Life’s Purpose, Eckhart presents a two-session program on making the transition from “thought-based” living to the realization of presence as the foundation for all you do.

Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

It’s one thing to talk about different states of mind or higher levels of awareness. It’s another thing entirely to experience a shift in consciousness beyond how we ordinarily perceive ourselves and the world around us. The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Story
In A New Earth, renowned spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle describes how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. The purpose of this book is to bring about a shift in consciousness, or in his words, an awakening. An essential part of this awakening is the recognition of the ego, and our attachment to things, the past, and enemies. In Oneness with All Life, Eckhart Tolle has picked the essential phrases and paragraphs - the gems of the book - that he feels are most important and reorganized them so listeners can focus on the most powerful ideas.

Choppy audio from some Zoom sessions
Grateful for Eckhart Tolle and this is a solid freeform reiteration of his core ideas. But the recording is atrocious -- it's just a bunch of Zoom sessions from during the pandemic. Have to say it's pretty cheeky and a tad predatory for Sounds True and Audible to package this up and sell it for $35.
