Experience, Strength, and Hope

This is a fascinating, harrowing, and ultimately triumphant story of the author's journey from functioning alcoholic to complete mess to sustained sobriety. Her writing vividly captures the pain and isolation of the illness. The narrator is excellent as well. She has an incredibly expressive voice that conveys a wide variety of emotions, including fear, sorrow, and loneliness but also hope, strength, and gratitude. Overall an excellent memoir, well-written and well-read. Highly recommended.
