About this listen

After a sudden, dramatic, devastating breakup, Dex and Tracy tried their best to continue being good moms to their daughter Kendall. But they accomplished that in a unique way. Family members served as go-betweens, allowing Dex to have frequent visits with Kendall while not interacting with Tracy at all. No visits, no calls, no emails, no texts. They have spoken not a single word since the night that Dex was banished from their home.

Surprisingly, Kendall handled the split very well. Her parents’ lives ran on parallel tracks with no drama whatsoever. They were deeply involved with Kendall’s life, just not each other’s.

Now she’s about to graduate from college, and her fondest desire is to have both Dex and Tracy attend her celebration. But since she learned early on that her moms would never choose to share space, she’s had to get creative.

Their forced meeting careens from anger to tears to slapstick to tender reminiscences. And that’s just in the first hour.

Kendall’s thrilled to be getting exactly what she wanted, and now that the wall of silence has been breached, there might be space for more. Maybe much more….

Couldn't finish the audio...

Couldn't finish the audio book, I read it instead. I was very disappointed in the narration, and removed the other Susan X books from my cart. I love this author and all of her books, but not so much as a reader. I am hooked on audio books and was really looking forward to sinking into this book, but the narrator had nothing compelling to make me want to listen to more. Every character had the same voice and tone and I got lost on who was to be talking.

On the plus side, this is a fantastic book to read. Characters are well developed and interesting with several LOL moments.

Buy the book, skip the audio.

Good Storyline but….

The storyline was really good, unfortunately I had a hard time listening to audio because the narrator was not at all engaging. I would have rather read the book than gotten the audible.

Loved it.

I enjoyed this one!
The narration was different but good.
Not the typical narrators, I think the author gave a very real interpretation of her work.
I also enjoy the reference to The Philadelphia Story.

Kinda pissed an author would decide to narrate her own book!

This audiobook could of been so much better if a good narrator was chosen for this book. The author herself writes awesome but I felt like someone was just reading to me in a monotone voice with none of the voice changes I’m used to which totally ruined it for me! So undoubtedly this was DNF for this audiobook

Out of the park

Susan X Meagher you never cease to amaze the reader in me. What a fantastic second chance love story with lots of twists and turns. Tracy and Dex are perfect characters and Kendall definitely gives it some spice. Thank you for your talent and never-ending talent to make us smile, laugh, cry and giving us the all encompassing HEA. This book just has it all.

Great story not so great narration

The story was so good! Tracy index second chance love all of the twist interns in the story, but what killed it for me was the narration I love the author I love her books, but I had a hard time keeping up with who was who in the story due to the narration, the voice of the characters never changed every single one of them sound the same and the reason I enjoy audiobooks is because it’s like watching a movie in your mind. When you hear each and every different voice for each character, I did not get that with this one this book took me a very long time to listen to because I had to keep going back and figure out who was speaking, and who was who which is not common when I am listening to audiobooks, the storyline was amazing. It was a great story I love that it was a second chance love I enjoyed that. The characters were not 20 something year olds, and that their life and things that went on in their lives were relatable to most adults. my rating was based on mostly narration, because the narration did again kill the story for me.
