A good entry in the post-Doyle collection

Arthur Hall has once again proven himself to be an able writer of Sherlock Holmes pastiche. This collection is a little less satisfying than the previous, but nonetheless less was enjoyable. Narration by David Bufton was excellent.

Interesting plots, depressing narration

Interesting stories but the narration is a put off. The narrator speaks in a monotone and sounds as though he is bored with the stories and feeling rather depressed himself. The narration just drones on and on and I find myself unable to follow the plot and wondering why the narrator is so unhappy.

I am so happy to have found this author!

I really like these Sherlock Holmes stories. The mysteries are cleverly devised, Watson and Lestrade are not stupid. I will listen to all the stories I can find by this author!

Narrators can make or break a book

The stories were well written but I can't believe the narrator they chose. Slow and plodding, he also made no effort to vary voices of the different characters. Extremely disappointing. If you're having trouble falling asleep put this title on. You'll be out in five minutes!

All of the Sherlock Holmes I experience with in the past were dramatized. After reading this collection, I want to read more a a Sherlock Holmes cases. Thanks to audible plus I just downloaded the Collection by the original author. Looking forward to reading it.

Really enjoying these!

These are some of the best pastiches I’ve come across and I’m really enjoying them a lot. The storylines are clever and fun and the characterization is perfect. Can’t wait to read more from this author!

I really liked the narration also - I found it very well done. Sometimes narrators go really overboard with their Holmes voice and it completely takes me out of the story. Not this one; it was understated and perfect.

A snoozer

The narration is boring and slow. Hard to stay awake while listening. The last story abruptly stops, no ending.👎
