Publisher's summary

Someone is siphoning funds from billionaire Zachary Barron's currency hedge fund. Intent on prosecuting the thief to the fullest extent of the law, he hires Katerina "Kat" Carter, the best forensic accountant in the business, to follow the money trail. Both are shocked when it leads to Zachary's father, Nathan.

And he's just the tip of the iceberg.

Nathan belongs to a shadowy organization with global ties and unimaginable resources. They already control the banking industry and the media, but their ultimate goal - the collapse of the global currency market and a new world order - will soon be within reach.

The organization learns of her involvement and sends a warning. She knows it will be her last - others who have tried to foil their agenda have met with violent deaths.

If Kat walks away and keeps her mouth shut, she'll look over her shoulder for the rest of her life in a world she'll scarcely recognize. Ignoring the threat makes her and everyone she cares about a target...or a potential traitor.

Still, as Kat Carter knows all too well...the greater the risk, the greater the reward.

And there's no hedging on this bet. It's all or nothing.

Wow!!! What a book!

Game Theory by Colleen Cross is the second book in the series featuring Katerina Carter, whom is a forensic accountant. I loved how this book is both a standalone listen and part of a series. This book has several endearing characters and several despicable ones. I thought the author wrote the character of Uncle Harry in a very sensitive manner. Alzheimer's is such a horrible disease, and so difficult to deal with. Katerina and Jace are also favorite characters of mine. I really enjoyed how the author wove several stories into one in this book. I had never really thought of elder-abuse before listening to this book, and the financial implications/consequences. Regarding another aspect of this book, the Ponzi scheme. The author wrote the details with such believability that I could see how people fall for them. The currency manipulation was another aspect that is very scary when one thinks about it. Petrea Burchard performed this book fantastically. I love how she gives distinguishable voices to the various characters. I could envision so many things with the vivid imagery in this book. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator. Blowout by Colleen Cross is the next book in the series.

Great Legal Thriller!

Game Theory kept me guessing who was stealing money from Kat's Uncles business. Harry is suffering from Alzheimer's and along the way Kat Carter is finding out about fraudulent companies that seem to be taking money from Harry.

This is the second book in the series. I have not read the first in series but it seems like a stand alone story and was easy to read. If you like financial and legal thrillers this is definitely a book for you.

very good, better than the first

Another solid book from Colleen Cross. This book sees Kat solving a possible embezzlement, but I enjoyed the other story in this book, the one with Kat and her Uncle Harry, not forgetting of cause Hilary who is rather scary. Want to know who Hilary is? you might want to read the book.

This book is suspenseful, emotional , exciting. I enjoyed this book more than the first, Exit Strategy (even though that was good), I think the details of the characters are more developed and as I also just finished the first book recently they are fresh in my mind.

Very good narration, the same person as the first book. I received a copy of the audio book in exchange for a review.

My favorite in the series

This was one I quite liked. The use of the two stories made it interesting and kept me hooked more then the others in the series. I even thought that my 102 year old Nan would enjoy this one. A simple read like all in the series with good narration but definitely my favorite of the four.

A Great Listen

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. A simple divorce case turns into so much more for Kat, when her billionaire client wants her to find a thief within his company. The trail leads to far more than either of them could imagine. Kat and Jase find themselves in serious danger after snooping around an invite only conference. The suspense and action will keep you listening much longer then you intended and leaves you waiting for book three.

Thriller

Overall this was a very good story, but too much was spent on Harry, with repeat of his story, so much so that it seems Kat forgets about Jase in hospital and suddenly finds him at home.
Narration was very good

Great Mystery Thriller!

This was my first Colleen Cross's book, and won't be my last. This is the second book, a standalone story, in the Katerina Carter Fraud Legal Thriller Series. Suspenseful, action packed, and filled with twists and turns. This thriller is really captivating! There's a lot going on, but despite that the story is easy to follow. Kat, Jace and Uncle Harry are great characters. Harry's Alzheimer disease is well described and realistic. Petrea Burchard did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed my listening, and I'm looking forward for more books written by this author. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook — at my request — and have voluntarily left this review.

Game Theory - Book 2

Katerina Carter is a forensic accountant. Hired by billionaire Zachary Barron's to give evidence in his divorce proceedings at first, than to look into fraud by Zachary's father Nathan, Kat finds herself uncovering something much large.

The book also tells the story how Kat juggles her private life with her working one. A lot has happen since Exit Strategy. Uncle Harry’s life has changed dramatically and it now seems he has Dementia. The return of Hilary, Harry's daughter who cheated him of his life's savings many years ago.

A gripping story where each chapter leaves you trying to guess what happens next but you always fall short. Well done!
