About this listen

The dead know what scares you....

Scare Street is proud to present a collection of best-selling horror author Ron Ripley’s most blood-curdling ghost stories. Four delightfully diabolical tales have been summoned from beyond the grave, and are certain to make your skin crawl.

This collection includes:

"Boylan House" - A small New England town is horrified when it discovers an old house has developed an appetite for the blood of children.

"Blood Contract" - The residents of the town of Thorne suffer a terrible price, when they break a supernatural contract with their ancient protectors.

"Hungry Ghosts" - A troubled psychiatric patient discovers that a secluded cemetery holds the key to stopping a murderous legion of the dead.

"Sherman’s Collection" - The sudden death of a wealthy and mysterious occultist leaves a library of haunted books in the care of his surprised heir.

Haunted houses, vengeful spirits, ancient curses - everything you crave in a classic ghost story lurks within this ghastly collection. And as you devour one terrifying story after another, pay no attention to the chill in the air.

It just may be the icy presence of the dead, standing over your shoulder....

I love the mind of Ron Ripley!!!

This is a great beginners package for 1 credit. As Tom Bowers does everytime his narration keeps ur attention and pulls u in. I love how creepy each one of these books were. Definitely spine tingling. I do wish there were more Hungry Ghost and Shermans collection books maybe even a trilogy. These books are a must have for horror fans.

Jake Urry; an assault on my ears

Jake Urry's performance destroyed 2 stories. I Could not bear to listen to his voice. I hope Ron Ripley sticks with Thom Bowers from now on . Urry's narration is somewhere between a drunken Brit and a well meaning answering machine. I desperately wanted to listen but simply could not after 30 minutes. Very disappointing.

Stories great, Narrative awful

All the stories were very good but, one of the narrators really needs to find another occupation. That narrator ruined good stories.

should have had one narrator

these stories were pretty good, but could have been better without the second reader. the reader of the first and third stories was one of the better ones ive heard. different voices, accents, and filled the naritive with feeling. the reader of the second and fourth stories was one of the worst ive heard. same sounding voices, monotone reading. awfully hard to listen to.

ghost stories galore

4 stories for the price of one. a detailed look into the Legends and myths of ghosts. My favorite story was The Boylan House, the creature described in it was more than your typical ghost, he shows great powers that only can be described as devilish. Each book changes narrators which gives good pacing to each story.

Cruel Reviews for a Fine Narrator

I sincerely hope Jake Urry reads this. Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion but if I were Mr. Urry I would be wounded and discouraged by the reviews of my narration. I thought he had an elegant accent which managed to be both soothing and sinister at the same time. I would not hesitate to listen to anything narrated by Mr. Urry. I felt he was unique and distinctive and I hope the barrage of negative reviews posted here does no harm to his future as a narrator. Bravo sir !

Sherman's collection was the best one

did not like the person reading the last story too monotone but the story itself was great.

Narrator takes away from collection

Love Ron Ripley's books! The issue with this collection is the narration of Jake Urry. The 2 books narrated by Thom Bowers were wonderful! Jake Urry's narration was such that I was unable to listed to the 2 books read by him. Very disappointing as I love Ron Ripley's books

Two of Two

Two of the stories I really enjoyed. Sherman’s Collection and Boylan House. The other two started out great than I was like meh. I guess I’m not much into fairy’s and goblins. Hungry Ghosts was better. I see what the comments are saying about the one narrator, he is kind of flat and droll but one of the stories I liked for the content not the narrator.

I really enjoyed the 1st 3 stories, the 4th one was good but didn't keep me on my toes as much but still enjoyed.

The last story Sherman's collection was good but didn't keep me on my toes wanting to know more. Hungry Ghost makes me want more, I was hoping the author had made more stories from that book bc it left me wanting more.
