About this listen

Fake town. Fake friends. Fake life. Real danger.

I lied to get a job as a financial planner, and to keep it I have to befriend the two other girls in the office, Alice and Taylor. One's an uptight priss, and the other's a thirsty party girl. When we take a trip to stay at a cabin on a lake, I'll find out I'm not the only one keeping secrets.

But it turns out the three of us aren't the only ones in this trendy tourist town. There's our silver fox host who keeps butting in, Taylor's two-faced hookup, and then I keep thinking I'm seeing someone out in the woods. It might be my imagination, until late at night I hear footsteps right outside our cabin.

It seems like everyone is after something, but they don't know I'll do whatever it takes to get what I want.

Girls Trip is a disturbingly addictive psychological thriller with a killer twist. It is the first book in the Girls Trilogy. This second edition features an expanded ending including a new epilogue as well as the first chapter of the sequel, Girls' Night, which is available now!

The narrator was very boring! She had no acting skills when it comes to conversation. Maybe she should take an acting course before reading a book. very monotone, makes it very hard to get to the end.

Boring Narrator 😴

Cool story plot. But everything was overly explained. The female characters choices were not real.

It didn’t make sense

The narrator lacks a good read aloud voice. Very little inflection in their voice. I want to like the story and thought maybe if I read it myself but not sure I will finish this book. People have mentioned "cringey" which I agree with. A few times I've caught myself shaking my head about the story line.

Not for me

Everything about the story seemed rushed and didn’t flow. Blah. A waste of a monthly Audible credit.

I did not like this book. It was boring. I would not recommend. It kept leading up to scenarios that could have been more captivating. Wasn’t written very well.

I quickly bought this based on Goodreads reviews, but don’t make my mistake. Listen to the sample and make sure you can handle the narrator. I tried 5 different times in different settings (driving, weight lifting, biking, showering, walking) and the way the narrator draws out every other word made it hard to focus on the story. It was unnecessary and annoying. I DNF for the performance alone. Hopefully I can get the opportunity to read the story because I like where it was going, but the style of reading is just really not for me. Sorry!

This was strange book to review bc the first 1/2 book loved, next 1/4 was so cringy I almost stopped. Glad I stuck with it, bc last 1/4 was good again!

It had me guessing until the end! However, there were a handful of super tiny cheesy parts or one liners that seriously made me almost turn the book off. Not kidding. It was so juvenile a few times. It’s almost like that middle part was wrote by someone else, & glad I still with it, the ending was fantastic!

B- rating - would give it an A in YA (young adult)

the narrator was very flat and during what should have been very exciting and heated parts of the book, her reading fell flat and matter of fact.

not a fan of narrator

Why was this book published. It seems like a series of jumbled ideas in search of a logical story. Not worth reading.

Poor plot and ridiculous characters

I really wish audible would let customers occasionally return books. I have 600+ titles in my library so I’m certainly a good customer. But since I can’t return this one, I leave a bad review. I got through the first 2 or 3 hours. I was cringing constantly. Poorly developed plot, unlikable characters, and as others have stated, reads like a YA book. I’m so very tired of female characters being dumbed down.

I’ve heard this narrator before, and she’s tolerable at 1.3+ speed. At 1.0 speed it’s painful.

Couldn’t get through it
