About this listen

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden comes an electrifying medical thriller, Dead Med, originally published as Suicide Med.

"All I can think about is how pathetic it would be to die in the anatomy lab. The last thing I want is to become one of the dead bodies."

When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs.

But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

Everyone has a breaking point.

Then, on the night before the final exam in anatomy, a shot rings out through the hallways of Dead Med.

The school has claimed yet another casualty. One of Heather's classmates has done the unthinkable, and before her desperate 911 call even connects, it will happen again.

And the night is just beginning.

Please note that Dead Med was originally published as Suicide Med. Dead Med is a revision with 20% new material.

The story is told from the perspectives of 6 characters, which I think is a bit much for any novel. That said, character development was good but there wasn’t a single character that I liked or was rooting for. About 2/3 through, it’s clear who the muderer is. So the rest of the book dragged for me. I almost stopped listening but powered through in the hope that it would get better or reveal some kind of surprise twist.

No Character to Like

Hard to put down. Not until the end of the book do you see how each character's reaction impacts the end result.

A Compelling and Fun Read!

Too many characters

Excellent character development. Great read! If medicine is your background then you'll grimace but accept the truths that come with the title of Doctor. Surprising ending.

Hero,Heroine or Villains?. Don't dismiss the book based solely on the opening chapters.

I like how every character has their own time telling the story. However, I was surprised when I heard the story is done.
The ending for me is not as good as compared to the other books the author wrote..

Lack of good ending

I loved it. Easy to listen to. Kept my attention and me up several nights to finish. Really good story and how things lined up to make the whole book fit together

As a previous medical student, this was sometimes to close to home. I love the twist and am so glad I didn’t go to Dead Med for med school.

Another great book
