Publisher's summary

Stop changing diapers, start potty-training your baby!

Over half the world's children are potty-trained by one year old, yet the average potty training age in the United States is currently three years old. This leaves parents wondering: What did people do before diapers? And how do I help my own baby out of diapers sooner?

Elimination communication, also known as EC, is the natural alternative to full-time diapers and conventional toilet training. Although human babies have been potty-trained from birth for all human history, we've modernized the technique to work in today's busy world.

Go Diaper Free shows parents of 0-18 month babies, step by step, how to do EC with confidence, whether full time or part time, with diapers or without. "Diaper-free" doesn't mean a naked baby making a mess everywhere - it actually means free from dependence upon diapers.

With this audiobook, new parents can avoid years of messy diapers, potty training struggles, diaper rash, and unexplained fussiness. Also helpful for those considering EC in the middle of a potty pause or confused about how to begin.

This sixth edition includes a new section on The Dream Pee, plus in the accompanying PDF, even more photos of EC in action, links to deep dives from each chapter, and access to our book owner's website, including our coach-led online support group and private video library.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

It works! My 5 month old uses the potty

Why is this method not standard practice everywhere? It is 1000 times easier than trying to potty train a toddler after years of diapers. The crazy thing is that I'm not even being super disciplined about it. I have days where I think "I'm busy; I'll just let him use his diaper", but then he fusses and I realise that he is CONSCIOUSLY HOLDING HIS BLADDER and WANTS TO USE THE POTTY! Last night he slept 6 hours, woke up with a dry diaper, peed in the potty, played, ate, pottied again, and went back to sleep in the same clean diaper. By the time he can crawl, he will be able to take himself to the potty. We should all be using this method. Save yourself $1000+ of diapers, and just buy this book.

Excellent resource

Read the book during pregnancy! Started at 4 weeks. So much success. It’s an incredible book to help you learn how to communicate with your baby is a loving and gentle way. Now 14 months and in full time undies , I re-listened to the audiobook to make sure I’m fully prepared as we get closer and closer to wrapping things up. So thankful for this resource!

Great guidance on EC

This is a thorough guide for how to do EC, I am really glad I got it because I needed some help understand why my son wasn’t going on the toilet anymore. Lots of good advice for older kids too and just all around instructional help. Really wish the potty training book was on audible!

Trying Something New

E. C. is unheard of in my family, but the grandparents were all supportive, if not suspicious, of us trying this with our little guy. Grandma lost her mind the first time she saw little man go on his potty. Once they saw that what we were attempting wasn't madness, I think they learned something.

This book is a major factor in how we have gone about potty time with our little one.

My baby hasn’t pooped in a diaper since 3 m.o!

We found out about EC when our son was 3 m.o, we started right away and he took to it immediately! We haven’t had poopy diapers since. He now (at 13 m.o) is out of diapers during his wake windows and signing “potty” when he has to go. We are loving this “passing the baton” stage and he’s so happy to be taking ownership over the process. Can’t wait to start day one with our future babies. Thanks Andrea!

No Pressure, Non-Judgemental How to EC

This book as been such a pleasure to listen to. As much as talking about pee and poop can be pleasurable anyway..

The no-pressure, choose your own adventure style of the EC strategies outlined in this book have made me so confident to start this from birth. I’m excited to get started.
The accompanying PDF is helpful to see the holds explained.

Informative and easy listening

The audio book was simple and easy to listen to. It was a bit reparative but she states that’s for a purpose. The book has good resources for EC training for both the parent and child. Recommend!

This should not be an audiobook.

There is a strong reliance on illustrations, references to podcast episodes, and numerical outlining that all point to this being a unsuitable format

Too repetitive

So 10 hours of a book could be well summarized in 1 hour. Too much repetition, to the point that I had to double check if I’m repeating the same chapter. Good concepts, will definitely implement.
