About this listen

Cohen: It turns out making out with my best friend in high school could be considered gay. Who knew? Apparently, everyone but me.

Now that it's been pointed out, I can't help reliving it in my head. Repeatedly. Good-bye Denial Town, hello Confusionville.

When my path leads me down the gay dating app route, I don't expect to meet anyone I like, but then I meet him. He can't be more opposite than me. He's smart, he hates hockey, and he identifies as demi - something I've never heard of. Yet I can't deny something's there.

Seth: All my life, I've felt broken. Sick of being asked if I could be gay by ex-girlfriends, friends, and even my parents, I join a gay dating app to prove a point.

I don't expect to find what's always been missing. A real connection. The problem is, I'm too scared to meet him in person. He's a hockey player, and I fear when he finds out my twin plays for the NHL, I'll be overshadowed by my overachieving brother. Again. Worse yet, what happens if we meet and that connection isn't the same?

When I tell him I'm not ready, he's disappointed but supportive. Fate, on the other hand, isn't as accepting.

Contains mature themes.

The buildup was intense

I almost couldn’t take it when they didn’t know who the other person was. I think that part took too long so it was a relief when it happened so we could get to the in person romance and interactions and sweet gestures.

Loved this one! Great read!

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting Cohen, aka Richie, and Seth's book this time. We met both in the first book and got to know Cohen better in the 2nd. This time we get to see what some of the realizations from book two have brought up for him. This book can be read as a standalone though definitely extra enjoyment having read the previous books. I loved getting to see the deeper side to Cohen and that side to Seth as well. He was struggling with where to identify and why things didn't quite add up and work out for him. He didn't understand the appeal to everything and the "loved up" side of things because he hadn't really felt it to that point. He is on the asexuality spectrum and needs to have a emotional connection before all the physical attraction and sparks really come about. I loved how Cohen and Seth got to know each other online and built that relationship and friendship first. For Seth to see if that gave him what he needed to make that connection without the pressure of physical side of things and for Cohen to see if he was into guys or not. They keep their identities unknown and build that connection without it. I loved how Richie was with Seth and didn't push and went at Seth's speed and made that known once they started getting deeper. I loved how Richie was upfront about asking the questions and communicating. He didn't want to try and read between the lines, he needed Seth to tell him where they stood and what things meant and would ask when that was needed and in a way without putting the pressure on. I loved once they finally figured things out and who they were and started the in person part of everything. This story was sweet and adorable and I was truly engaged with both Richie and Seth and loved them together! This story was really easy to read and once started I didn't want to put it down and am very excited for Asher's story next!

Best of the series

I love the CU Hockey Series. This one is my absolute favorite of the bunch. I love the characters Seth and Cohen. Both discovering who they are and falling for one another without meeting each other first. I can't wait for more.

Much better in audio

The banter and humor was 5/5. Easily became one of my comfort reads. I was reading this when I discovered there was an audiobook and it elevated the experience. Especially the narrator for Cohen, they really suits his character. Love this!

Love love love!

Can’t say enough good things about this series. The authors and narrators hit it out of the park... errr scored a hat trick again. I hope we get a’book about Asher because that poor guy needs some love.

So funny

This was so funny and just …interesting. I liked it, but it was more graphic/spicy than I expected. Still enjoyed it very much.

Demi representation!

I’ve read a lot of M/M romances but this was the first book where one of the main characters was demi. I absolutely loved their texting and all the build up until they finally figured out who the other one was. Such a sweet and refreshing story!
