A former model, a grumpy lawyer, and a single dad walk into an audition for a children's musical.... They’re all Miles Brodie. It’s only cute if you aren’t the director who’s being bribed to cast his daughter.
Dear Mr. Cross,
Re: our discussion
- True. Casting my daughter as the lead in your musical could be considered bribery if people find out I’m investing in it, but no one needs to know.
- I only want to hire you as Macy’s singing coach so her vocal skills will improve.
- Maybe if you’d spent less time surfing and more on your singing career, you wouldn’t be in this financial predicament.
- Re: your living situation—my neighbor has a guest house. If you cast Macy as Alice, I will pay for your first three months’ rent.
Do we have a deal?
Best regards,
Miles Brodie
Dear Mr. Brodie,
- It absolutely is bribery, but I absolutely need that money for my production. Thanks!
- It is very cute that you will do anything to get Macy this part, but I would only coach that sweet child as a favor to all mammals with functional hearing.
- If I spend less time surfing, will you spend less time jogging on my beach with your shirt off?
- You want to pay me to live next door so you don’t have to drive anywhere to frown at me?
- I have another condition for casting Macy as Alice—you have to perform the part of the Cheshire Cat.
Purrrrrrr,
Aria

Also, hearing him saying “Mama” and “y’all” was somehow very satisfying for this Southern girl. Mackenzie Cartwright was a perfect choice for the leading lady. The entire cast is top notch. Be prepared for all the feels.

This audiobook is a symphony of talent, perfectly suited for a multicast narration. The only thing missing was actual music for them to sing along to! Jason and Mackenzie actually sing acapella in this audiobook and Connor does a little rap. Definitely a good one to enjoy as an audiobook! Mackenzie's portrayal as the buoyant counterpart to Miles' melancholy was spot-on. Jason's portrayal of the stoic, straight faced, and lonely entertainment lawyer was masterful, capturing the character's essence flawlessly. Throughout the book there is a family group chat that the other narrators perform and it really just brought it all together and made it come to life. Well done, legs broken, take a bow!
📚Story review📚
"Good Vibrations" is like a breath of fresh, cute, and fluffy air amidst the heavy beats of life's playlist. It's a joyful dive into the world of children's musical theater that sung right to my choir girly heart! Total hard right from some of my other recent and future listens. Miles' journey from sadness to love is so relatable, and Kayley's writing sparkles with wit and charm. Her humor really gets me! The only thing missing was actual music to join in the fun! And those family group texts and clips? Pure comedy gold! If any of this resonates with you, then this will be a fun light read.
These are my own honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily. I purchased this audiobook.
Jason and Mackenzie sing acapella!
