I love books by M. Never however, this one was not my favorite. The storyline was going great until the main male starts hooking up with the main female's best friend just to spite her (more than once for a better part of the book). The best friend claims she does it for her friend's own good but it's obviously a punishment. Not my favorite plot twist....

I absolutely love M. Never books/audiobooks. I own almost all of them. This is the third book in the WORLD OF ASSASSINS series. They just keep getting better. Dove is strong and independent with no room for romantic love. She's extremely loyal to Stefania, her one and only friend. Tate has been undercover for years. Doing his job may cost him Dove. Dove's story is heartbreaking, Tate is heart stopping and their story is riveting. A must read/listen!

Gomez Pugh and Mel Schaffer are great narrators. Their performances were emotional and brought the book to life.

Ghost face killer was the best. I had hopes for this 3rd book in the series. There was not much of a story line or anything. Also, why change the best narrators you used for Ghost face killer? That was your fist mistake. Muffy Newton and Jacob Morgan are the best in the business and worth the money!

2.5 stars. I liked the MCs in the first two books, especially the Audible. This last book missed the mark for me, and the male narrator’s voice would've been better for a small-town romance. Putting this aside, the FMC, Dove’s character, was hard to connect with, and her chemistry with the MMC, Tate, was missing something. He liked her more than she did, which was due to her trust issues, but he slept with her business partner first! He told her too many lies that I couldn't get past. Overall, the World of Assasins is a good series worth reading, where the first two FMCs are less talk and more action with better fighting scenes.

When a new book comes out by one of my favourite authors you bet I’m going to ‘one click’ it, sit back and look forward to the author’s journey.. and I wish I could say I loved this listen, but sadly I just can’t. Right from the start, the hard as nails badass Dove rejects the handsome hero Tate who is the new recruit in the Cartel where she is second in command. So, despite being in love with Dove and saying he’ll wait, Tate starts-up a sexual relationship with another woman. However, it isn’t just with any woman, it‘s right in front of her with Stefania - Dove’s friend and the Leader of the Deltoro Cartel. And Stefania is using Tate because she herself is in love with Marco who is the rival Cartel Leader but she can’t have him. Dove gets jealous and something finally brings Tate into her bed.. but what about Stefania?.. what about Marco?.. and what about Tate’s sneaky big secret.

Worth a credit? For me personally, sadly this time it’s a no. It had a good start, but Dove’s cold, icy and heartless demeanour didn’t warm me to her. Plus, I thought there was a lack of chemistry, the ‘other woman’ relationship felt shitty by both parties and (for me) it just didn’t have the usual depth of M. Never’s usual heartfelt, layered and emotional love stories. There’s drama and action in the end.. but it came too late for me to recover my interest by then. The duet-style dual POV narration was just “meh” ok.. and I did wonder if my opinions on the book would been different if it’d been narrated by the talented Jacob Morgan and Muffy Newton who did the previous books in the series.. or just maybe, they didn’t like the story either.
