About this listen

As the battle against the invading aliens intensifies, a group of bad boy bikers and mercenaries will stand and fight for humanity's survival....

Squad Three berserker Griff lived through hell, long before the alien invasion. Once, he'd been a dedicated cop, but then in a gut-wrenching betrayal, he ended up behind bars in a supermax prison. After the aliens invaded, he managed to escape and join the soldiers fighting back...and came face-to-face with his best friend's little sister - the bold, vibrant, off-limits woman he's always wanted. Now, the beautiful, tattooed Indy is his squad's comms officer...and she hates his guts.

Indy Bennett lost her parents and brother in the alien attack, and every day, she vows to suck the marrow out of life. She's also doing her bit in the fight as Squad Three's comms officer, even if it means seeing the man who broke her young heart. Griff was once her brother's best friend, a boy she adored, but now, she knows she needs to steer clear of the hard-edged man who still draws her like a moth to a flame.

Griff vows to claim Indy as his. The only problem is, Indy is having none of it. As their fiery attraction explodes, they find themselves embroiled in the hunt for the aliens' unexplained octagon weapon and a mysterious survivor town where all is not what it seems.

Both Griff and Indy will have to learn to let go of the hurts of the past if they have any chance of not just surviving, but having a future.

Another fabulous story!

Another fabulous adventure with Hell squad. Anna Hackett has a fantastic way of writing a story. It’s a well written and narrated suspenseful storyline that will have you on the edge of your seat.
The narrator’s do a fabulous job with the characters and voices of each character making it easy to distinguish between the characters. They’re becoming one of my favorite narrator’s.

Love it

BOOK REVIEW........
Ms. Hackett writes amazing stories with great characters (those you love & those you love to dislike), fast-moving plots, unexpected twist and turns, and, of course, hot alpha guys and strong women you can admire. The attention to details make the book come alive as you read it.

NARRATOR REVIEW.......
The narrator did a great job with the voice of the characters

Redemption, Love and Forgiveness

Griff and Indy were childhood friends that took the long route to love but really enjoyed the benefits once there!! I loved that Griff was a survivor with good guy super hero ingrained in his core makeup despite the betrayal he suffered. Indy was also fierce in her determination to survive despite the loss of her entire immediate family!! Both fought the aliens using their individual skills to defend others against the enemy who took so much from them. Their story was one of redemption, love and forgiveness!!

Smexy Alien Romance.

These are all good books and I recommend reading them in order, I personally waited until there was Site Wide sale on Audible and got them all as they are all along the same lines, unfortunately they are short, so I don’t recommend a full credit on them. They are best if read in order as the story line progresses, start with Marcus. If you are like me and love a good alien romance this is a good choice in a series. Like all series you have your favorites out of the bunch. Narrators are good.

Griff & Indy

I liked it, but after 15 books some things - like a "cute nickname" for the female lead given by the male lead is getting a bit old. if not for the overarching plot story of the alien invasion would probably not go any farther.

Griff

Hell Squad is back with the spotlight on Squad 3's (the Berserkers) Griff and Indy. Of all the characters in this series, these two have known each other from childhood and their secrets and long buried emotions come in to play. Cook and Kafer do a great job bringing the action to life and the story a little closer to the final battle. Enjoy!

An exciting experience!

Griff is a member of a group called the berserkers. They are comprised of the renegades from society from before the invasion of the Gizzida aliens; for example, one was in jail, and another was a mafia enforcer, and they all ride tricked-out motorcycles. Griff was a former police detective, framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and spent time in a supermax prison because of it. His best friend’s little sister—Indy Bennett—always knew Griff was innocent, but since he broke her heart when she was younger, she has issues with him. Once burned/twice shy and all that… He always had a soft spot for Indy, but with the best friend bro code, he couldn’t act on it, and had to rebuff her interest. Unfortunately, Indy lost her whole family when the Gizzida aliens invaded. As a result, the bro code no longer applies. Now Indy is the communications officer for the berserkers, so they see each other a lot. The attraction still burns brightly, but Indy is staying away to keep her fragile heart intact.

The world-building in this series is incredible. There are a few convenient ‘facts’ that keep the story flowing, like how they always have enough parts to keep all of their technology working when the factories have been shut down since the invasion… If the reader can overlook this detail, then the story is actually quite good. You can imagine how difficult things would be for these survivors, which makes the risks they take for the survival of humans make a certain type of sense. The pacing is fast, the action is pretty steady and the characters make the story fun to read.

The narrators do a good job of capturing the action and conveying the emotion of the characters. You can feel the urgency when there is danger, and you can feel the camaraderie when they are hanging out during and after a mission. This book is fun to read and to listen to—especially if the reader is familiar with the storyline up until this point. Griff will make more sense if you read some or all of the earlier entries in this series.

Griff

Griff and Indy knew each other since way before the Gizzida attacked, since Griff was her brother's best friend. This put Indy in off limits territory... only its been years, they're both grown ups, and no one is around to tell them no.

It's just a matter of attacking aliens, long held secrets, and some old hurts to get over. No biggie.

Loved this dynamic where the characters already had prior relationships beyond the attack.

Great next book in the series

At #17, the team is just like a family. I feel like this one had more of the other characters involved too so it was doubly wonderful to catch up to everyone. The general flow is actually quite similar across stories but the characters themselves are what sells the stories. You want them all to succeed (and you know they will because, hello, HEA) but there are some bumps in the road they have to navigate first. I love Griff and Indy is awesome- such snark. I'd like to be her friend. The romance is great but the connection to the characters really makes you come back for more. Not to mention the action- Anna Hackett can really write great action sequences!

Overall, I really just love these books and I can't wait to read the next few as we wait to see how these Squads rid the earth of these horrible aliens.

The narration was great, as expected since these narrators, Samantha Cook and Jeffrey Kafer do the Hell Squad narrations. I really enjoyed their reading.

Still going strong!

This book is still moving forward with more alien creatures, deception, love, romance, comedy, and drama. I had Griff figured out. Can’t wait to get to Tane and Salina’s story; but there are a few good books before I get there; narrators are great! On to the next book!
