Entertaining and suspenseful

This was a very good zombie tale. I was on the edge if my seat often. I would recommend this to a zombie fan.

Loved it!

Great story. great characters. Small issue with the sound, when the women speak their part it is awkwarly louder than the main narrators low voice. The narrator saying 4 W D instead of 4 wheel drive bugged me but not enough to take away a star.

I so wanted to love this

I so wanted to love Ground Zero: A Zombie Apocalypse it sounded, from the summary, to have everything that is needed to be a truly great story. But sadly I didn't. Ryan tried to have a plot of terrorists attacking the United States with a zombie virus. With that it started off great, getting a glimpse of the terror plot. Then the outbreak begins, on the national news, a large crowd of protesters are suddenly transform into a horde of blood thirsty undead. Then we find that the virus as spread across the eastern seaboard. Still pretty good to this point.

Ryan has a special skill when writing about blood filled gory action scenes. They really got my heart pumping. But it seemed to be nothing but blood thirsty gory scene after scene. Because the characters were forgettable. Other than the breast fixation, that I remember clearly.

To me it seemed that Ryan was trying to hard to make something great. Taking too many queues from the old-school T&A horror flicks of yesteryear.

Surprisingly good given most of the reviews

No spoilers here. First chapters slow. Picks up fast and has decent character development given the length. All the comments about sexism and objectifying women is just hogwash. Author seemed to be aiming to show the darker and lighter sides of human nature with good lead characters and interesting development. If your not triggered by a bit of pandering to the common tropes in this kind of genre, its a good listen. Short, sweet, and to the point. Good for a road trip.

An excellent zombie book

I thought a majority of this book was going to be like the beginning where it jumped from one character to another telling of how they ended up as the undead. But shortly after chapter 2 the story stabilized on a small group of individuals that had to work together to survive through the beginnings of a zombie apocalypse. It makes a nice addition to my zombie Novel Collection and look forward to listening to the other books in the series

Has the author ever met a real female?

I’ve read some bad books in this genre but this one takes first prize. Women don’t default to helpless waifs weaponizing their sexuality the moment things get challenging. Males become heroic, despite lack of any skill, in hard times and women speak in breathy whispers with their erect nipples taut against the thin fabric of their tops. Gross. This book is camp but not the good kind.
