As they spearhead an advance into the Realm of Death, the Hallowed Knights are beset by enemies – including the treacherous Mannfred von Carstein, who may hold the key to saving a long-lost soul.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

The Hallowed Knights get a long-awaited chance to take revenge on Mannfred von Carstein for betraying the Bull-Hearts, as Josh Reynolds ties together a host of his Warhammer Age of Sigmar tales.

THE STORY

As cities rise across the Mortal Realms, Lord-Celestant Gardus Steel Soul leads his Hallowed Knights into darkest Shyish, hoping to gain a foothold for the forces of Azyr. But as the foundations of a new citadel are laid, the Hallowed Knights find themselves beset by enemies both living and dead. Now, Gardus must lead his warriors into the very heart of darkness to save the soul of a warrior long thought lost.

A must read if you enjoy Gardus and his Steel Souls.

Good character development, and a good insight of city life in Shyish. Also an interesting take on Beastmen. Hint’s at Evolution, which is fascinating for me; cause I like the beastmen factions.

Insight into Nagash & high ranking servants

The story does an incredible job of humanizing the villainous characters, making them understandable. It creates conflicting feelings when viewing some as villains whom seem to be trapped in servitude more than malicious. The insight into the Stormcast is also extremely deep, detailing the fear of death within many of the storm cast Eternals, because when they’re reincarnated they don’t truly know what to expect, or how much of them will even live on or be remade into something new. The description of memories lost and the fear of loosing them is pretty thought provoking.
