About this listen

A restless menace threatens the town of Wyrmditt. Stirred from his grave by fell magic, Sabrodt, the Shrouded King, seeks dominion over the kingdom he failed to claim in life. So great is the terror inflicted upon the lands by Sabrodt and his nighthaunts that Sigmar, God-King, sends a retinue of his warriors most skilled in the art of Azyrite magic to liberate the town. The Stormcast Eternals of the Sacrosanct Chamber are warrior-wizards, imbued with arcane knowledge and the power to wield the energies of the storm in battle.

Leading the retinue is Knight-Incantor Arnhault, a formidable mage who has studied the histories of Sabrodt's kingdom. But the fight against the Shrouded King will challenge Arnhault's mettle like none other - especially when he discovers that the Undead knows more about his past than he does.

if you're new to this franchise like me, you'll find this very accessible to read. I'm familiar with the Warhammer 40k universe, but never got into Warhammer fantasy. They're similar but with important differences. Stories are well written, alluding to significant historical events but seamlessly explain what's important to the story at hand. The narrator does an excellent job and his voice fits the tone of the stories well. I highly recommend this book.

A great start into the Age of Sigmar

It was a great intro int the Age of Sigmar, I am currently playing the game on Android IOS, and it nice getting to know some of the characters and races.

Good background for Age of Sigmar

Sacrosanct was a good book with a great variety of stories not solely focused on the Stormcast Eternals. There were a couple slower stories, but it makes up for it with some other exciting stories. Worth a listen certainly.

A lot of good stories from warhammer universe and good place to pop your warhammer cherry. And good time for warhammer veterans. Whichever one you are there’s good story you!

Lot of cool stories

This was my first experience with this sort of Warhammer stories, and while I wasn't entirely sure of what to expect, I think it came out pretty much as I would have guessed. There were a fair number of tropes with slimy leaders and priests, lots of testosterone and posturing, and yup, castigators and paladins and necromancers and the Hatfields and McCoys. I appreciated that the leader gave both sides of the argument equal due and gave support to both without picking favorites. I know, this is a somewhat scattered review... I didn't write it right away, and now I'm struggling to remember details! Basically, if you enjoy Warhammer you'll find the collection worth a listen. If you don't, then you may have to spend a bit of time trying to figure out what's going on and what things like stormcast eternals may be!

Paladins vrs Necro King

I can’t believe a company as large as games workshop would repeat stories, this collection has stories that are in other collections, disappointing
