About this listen

Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella are back with another collection of warm and witty stories that will strike a chord with every woman. This four-book series is among the best-reviewed humor books published today and has been compared to the late greats Erma Bombeck and Nora Ephron. Booklist raved of the third book in the series, Meet Me at Emotional Baggage Claim: "[R]eaders can count on an ab-toning laugh session, a silly giggle, a sympathetic sigh, and a lump in the throat as life’s moments are rehashed through the keen eyes and wits of this lovable mother-daughter duo."

This fourth volume, Have a Nice Guilt Trip, maintains the same sterling standard of humor and poignancy as Lisa and Francesca continue on the road of life, acquiring men and puppies. To be honest, Lisa is acquiring the puppies, while Francesca is lucky enough to have dates with actual men. They leave it to the listeners to decide which is more desirable and/or easier to train.

I loved this book. The generations of women , three, was so much fun to experience.

This book made me tear up here and there. I also learned a lot of life listens. The greatest thing I have learned that it's okay to to let something fall threw the cracks. It's a really good listen.

New to audio books-my daughters boyfriend broke his neck due to a car accident. We visit him an hour away every weekend. After an unusually difficult visit it is so nice to be entertained by your reality. Hits the spot. Thank you for the smiles when so needed.

Just what we needed

I love the concept of a mother and daughter team in this book. Their voices bring the words in the page to life.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I'm not sure what was worse, the fact that someone wrote a (supposedly) humorous book about getting wasted and farting with mom, or the fact that it was made into an audiobook. I was hoping for something heartfelt - I got vapid, shallow women with gas.

Would you ever listen to anything by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella again?

NO.

Would you be willing to try another one of Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella ’s performances?

NO. Why waste more time on this drivel?

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment and feeling like a wasted a free download. Bewilderment as to how this POS book could have sold at all.

Any additional comments?

I’m going to have to give this an unusual review, because I love Lisa Scottoline for a variety of reasons. I love her Rosato & Associates mysteries. I love that she lives in and uses the Philadelphia area in her books. I love her daily posts to Facebook, with her darling King Charles Spaniels. I loved the Giveaway that she had with the release of Have a Nice Guilt Trip. All of that being said, I didn’t love the Audible version of Have a Nice Guilt Trip. I think that it’s possible I might have enjoyed reading it more than listening. I’m definitely anxiously awaiting the release of Betrayed: A Rosato & Associates Novel on November 25, 2014. Sorry, but for me, Have a Nice Guilt Trip was not a great listen.
