About this listen

A Chinese astronaut is found dead in a NASA training environment in Houston, Texas. No one can explain how he got there. Amid fears of a diplomatic catastrophe, the CIA dispatches Timothy 'Hangman' Blake to investigate a convicted kidnapper who works in the facility – someone Blake put away seven years ago.

Blake is deeply insane, afflicted by terrible urges he can barely control – but he's also brilliant. Zara, his beautiful and deadly CIA handler, suspects a secret Chinese spacecraft is surveilling the United States, but Blake can see something much more sinister is going on. Something connected to the kidnapping seven years ago, to the technologies being developed at NASA and to the serial killer known as the Texas Reaper.

Will Blake survive long enough to uncover the truth? And if he does, will anyone even believe him?

Love this series.

While I read the first three books physically (excuse me Audible, where is Hideout?!), I listened to book 4 after a friend recommended the experience. While I enjoyed the story of the first three more than this last one, the narration was still on point. Highly recommend and encourage Audible to get book 3 to complete the experience.

Timothy Blake's next adventure

I enjoyed Hangman, Just One Bite and now Headcase. I would rate them in that order too. They are all a pleasure to listen too, but the first was the best for sure. I enjoy Timothy Blake as our anti- hero and was very happy to see this book had come out. Our hero gets himself in some fine messes in this one and it's a bit crazy, but good. I really enjoy Christopher Ragland as the narrator and I think he makes Timothy come alive and gives him his personality.

Timothy Blake Eats Again

The story continues. Timothy Blake's unlikely yet entertaining journey as a crime consultant (who is also a cannibal) is a fun noire-like story with dark humor and dark plots that balance each other out and somehow seem lighthearted. As a native to Houston, TX, I have to say that the author very clearly is not. The performance in the audio book narration is solid, but it's disappointing that they repeatedly mispronounced Pearland, TX, city name. It is "Pear" land, as in the fruit. NOT "Pearl" land, precious stones. Please do better Christopher Ragland.

Best Unconventional Series

Audible doesn’t have the 3rd book so I would give them 0 stars. However the series itself is a great experience through all books and I would highly recommend
