Publisher's summary

The way we deal with grief in the Western world is fundamentally broken. This inspiring guide to living a life after death aims to change that.

Peyton Salvage suffered the death of a loved one at an early age and learned that the way we approach death as a society does nothing to serve those struggling to cope with losing someone dear to them.

Losing a loved one is one of the most traumatic and heartbreaking events in a person's life. And yet, as a society, we're uncomfortable with allowing people to grieve in the way most natural to them, leaving mourners feeling isolated and ashamed of their grief.

We tell them that everything happens for a reason and expect that to be enough. But that can't be right. How do you "get over" the loss of someone you loved? How do you move on like your love for them was nothing?

By addressing grief from the view of both the mourner and those who comfort them, this uplifting book offers a gentle, guiding hand to help those impacted by death heal and find meaning in life afterward.

Healing from Death: A Lifelong Journey with Grief and Loss makes no promises about you "moving on" or "getting over" your grief. Instead, this book seeks to help you grow and live with your grief in a healthy way that honors the love you had for those you've lost.

Amazing book

I really need it this. After losing my dad from cancer I had a really hard time to cope, as he was oversea I didn’t get a chance to see him before he pass. This book is healing my heart day by day, it is not easy but it is part of everyone’s journey. I highly recommended it to anyone that is grieving, struggling from losing a loved one.

A relevant book for all

A much needed book for everyone! Death is a part of life and yet society and people in general never provided the best support to people grieving for a loved one. This book has helped me understand death differently and as a psychologist, I will definitely recommend this to my clients. Thank you for such an insightful and powerful book!

Great advice that's cheaper than a therapy session

I'm not saying that we shouldn't go to therapy to deal with our own grief, trauma, or loss but I think this book is a good resource for someone who wants to get started on their healing journey. The book covers techniques on how we craft our own path to live a good life despite the loss we faced. I found chapter 3 quite fascinating as it covers how different culture deals with grief and love the gentleness of the author reminding readers that our journey to heal is unique to our own and that it's never a straight line. Thank you for the inspiration and words of wisdom!

Motivating guide to continue

My grandmas sister passed and it had been tough to cope, because I knew that my grandma and grandpa are in the same age range.

This book not only helped me detect some triggers and learn to cope with them for my loss of my great aunt, but I feel more prepared to handle the inevitable losses of loved ones in the future.

Much Needed!

I lost my father in June of 2020 to health issues associated with the type of food that causes diabetes, and before that, I lost bost sets of grandparents due to the same reason, I am only 27 years old and have gone through massive losses in my life and this book helps a lot with understanding the cycle and being more in arms with acceptance with the course of nature. I highly recommend this audiobook to any and everyone because death is inevitable and the sooner you can accept it the easier it will be to cope with when the situation arises. I am very thankful for this audiobook, and I will be recommending it to the rest of my family and friends!
