How to harness the power within yourself
I found much to be thankful for within this book. I'm constantly searching for ways to modify my behaviors to reduce stress and relax. There's something about truly understanding the WHY and HOW behind the methods that seem to make them worse more effectively for me personally. I found myself following along with the breathing and meditation exercises while listening to the book, and I truly slept the best night in a long time right afterwards. In this modern world, we lose the ability to listen to our body. My hope now is that, with practices learned in "Healing the Vagus Nerve", I'll be better attuned to my body's language and those rested nights will be many.

Dietary recommendations were interesting

An Informative Health Manual
I have read several books about the Vagus Nerve but this book is by far the most interesting. The material is well structured, making seemingly difficult concepts easy to understand and follow. I found particularly interesting the Polyvagal Theory which demonstrates how the vagus nerve impacts social behaviour and emotional regulation.
I do believe that a understanding of the information contained in this book will have a positive effect on people who are struggling with chronic illness, stress and general ill-health. I wasted no time in embarking on the calming exercises and I find them very effective indeed.
