Publisher's summary

Heart of Black Ice is the climactic conclusion to Terry Goodkind's New York Times bestselling Nicci Chronicles.

In the wake of the brutal war that swept the Old World in Siege of Stone, a new danger is forming along the coast. Taken captive by their enemies, King Grieve, along with Lila and Bannon are about to discover the terrifying force that threatens to bring destruction to the Old World.

The Norukai, barbarian raiders and slavers, have been gathering an immense fleet among the inhospitably rocky islands that make up their home. With numbers greater than anyone could have imagined, the Norukai are poised to launch their final and most deadly war.

Goodkind & Traister Hit the Ball out of the Park

TG has written another excellent book in the Nicci Chronicles series, but it comes alive through the talents and narration of Christina Traister. I have read hard copies of all the original Richard books, but have listened to the Chronicles only through Audible. I must admit Christina's narration takes me back to when i was a kid listening to the radio in the 40s and 50s. Her style and abilities sparks my imagination and visual thoughts about what is going on. Looking forward to Book 5. thanks Christina and TG. jeff lantz

Seamless continuation of my favorite book series. Voice actor is a great choice for the main character.

Some pronunciations, through out all 4 books, were off, but that's to be expected with items of fantasy.

Great book as usual

As any good story, I wish it could continue. Sad there will be no more. Here’s to a great writer. Thank you for the adventures.

Great story! Terrible narration…

I have listened to dozens and dozens of audiobooks and Christina Traister is by far the worst I’ve ever heard. The reading was as if she was reading it for the first time, with hesitations all over the place, unlike a professional narrator. But the worst part was her attempts at doing male voices. She sounded like a 10-year-old boy who is trying to sound (mockingly) like a tough guy.
If there are going to be more stories in the series, please get somebody better!

I loved this series

I love it!!! I've read the series twice and finally listened to the audible version. I hate this is the last book in the Nicci Chronicles.
I would only change the constant repeating of things.

Not the best, but it ended well!

This book didn’t feel great, but didn’t pick up until about half way through the book. Bannon Farmer had the best and most consistent story by far in this volume.

It had a good bit of eye rolling nonsense, as things were somewhat obvious to me. However, once I got passed the center, I enjoyed the rest of the story well enough.

It’s no Faith of The Fallen, but it finished well enough.
