Publisher's summary

Mage private investigator Alice Worth and alpha werewolf Sean Maclin have finally moved in together. Their new domestic arrangement is strained by the presence of Alice's father, a longtime lone wolf struggling to fit into his daughter's dangerous and unpredictable life. To make matters worse, would-be assassins track Alice's every move and she's estranged from her ghost sidekick Malcolm.

Restless at home surrounded by protective werewolves, Alice takes a new case with Malcolm reluctantly riding shotgun. What starts as a straightforward search for a missing artist quickly spirals into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with a seemingly invincible foe whose cruelties know no bounds. Already on edge after another attempt on Alice's life, Sean and Malcolm ask her to do the impossible: walk away from the case.

When her grandfather, crime lord Moses Murphy, gives her a deadly ultimatum and her plan to resolve her case goes up in flames, Alice will need every power, alliance, and skill at her disposal to defeat her adversaries. The stakes are much more dire than simply life and death—and the very souls of Alice and everyone she loves hang in the balance.

Contains mature themes.

Loving the progression

Alice is becoming wiser and making better choices! If you love paranormal romances and haven’t checked out this series then you just lucked out and found your newest binge read. The author has a talent that will grab you into the story and bring the characters to life. This was a hidden gem series for me and am glad that I found it.

one of the BEST urban fantasy series!

great narrator, great story, and freaking awesome characters!

I can't get enough of this series!
I'm constantly recommending it, because it really does have all the best things Urban Fantasy has to offer.
Alice is an amazing MC that struggles with things, and actually does the work to get better and change.
All the characters are amazing and totally make the book.

already have the next one ordered!!!

Soooo good

I had waited for the next book to come out on audible before I read this one, and wow was it worth the wait. I loved the end and knowing about Daisy's future. I'm nervous about Alice's shaky truce with her evil grandfather. Once again, Great characters and story telling

This book doesn't shine like the rest

I'm a big fan of the Alice Worth series, so when I say that this book doesn't quite shine like the rest, I say it with love. This book seemed very jumbled, so much happens in this book it could have filled two books, but everything piled into this story, and by the end I kinda stopped caring and just wanted it to end. without giving any spoilers, two major plots take shape in this story that I feel could have easily been separated into their own stories and padded out with more detail. instead the story kinda pulls you from scene to scene before you get a feel of what they're there to do. Aside from my little complaint, the story is classic Alice and picks up almost immediately after the last story.

Alice is annoying

She is overly dramatic for me. i cant like her, a super powerful who causes her own issues because she has that hero complex... stories with main characters with a hero complex are annoying and boring to me.
