Power of herbal medicines!
My grandma used to ask me why do i used these chemical medicines for the inconveniences in my health such as insomnia and stress instead i should use herbal medicines which have no side effects and long term advantage. At that i used to her, that they are not useful etc. Now that I'm studying plant biochem and started to focus on ethnobotanical uses of plants, i came across this book and I'm shocked to read such useful remedies author has mentioned to get rid of insomnia, depression and memory. I love the sympathy author has poured in while writing the book. The book consists of tips and ideas to use herbs in our normal routine issues for a good health. Highly recommended!

Natural remedies, expertly presented
As a nature lover who grew up in the countryside, I’ve always received natural treatments as a child and when I became an adult I did not depart from it.
The information is useful for those who are interested in herbal treatments and invaluable for those who have little or no access to allopathic medicines. I am particularly impacted by the extensive detail outlined in chapter 6 which describes over 100 amazing herbs and how to use them. It is heartening to know that I can cultivate these herbs and have them available when necessary. I actually have an aloe vera plant at home and only now do I truly understand the range of uses of the plant.
If you want to experience the wonders of nature I highly recommend this book.

Definitely an herb book challenger
As an herbalist myself I always love learning more and out of the many books out there this is a great one. Dandelion leaf was her first introduction to plant medicine, mine was herbal Nature Sunshine capsules but for my own kids it was through my own loose leaf apothecary and Plantain chewed and rubbed on poison ivy itches.
Because I've only listened to the book (and loved it) means I'm now going to buy the physical book for my library. There are so many lists for so many things, it would be beneficial to have the physical book as a reference.
Over 100 herbs are described, a description of what they look like, their uses and warnings, their native land and other names for each herb. Are there pictures in the physical book?
Remedies and recipes are given in the last chapter with many i haven't heard of.
Rosemary Shaw is a very knowledgeable author and this is a great book.

Alternative for our over medicated society
I was a novice about herbalism. I knew its folk lore benefits but it was interesting to discover the science to support it. As a senior, who takes no prescription medications, the detailed natural remedies and their function are a valuable aid to keeping me this way. This book is a gold mine of information in great detail. I want to apologize in advance that I gave this book only 4 star for story. This is a reflection of the type of book, not a reflection on the book itself. This is only because it is a great reference book but it is not a story book. A reference book is not designed to entertain but rather to inform. It does this in an efficient, factual and highly component way. This is what you want in this type of book, After all, Webster’s dictionary is an excellent reference tool but it’s not a great story. This is the book I highly recommend if you want to take control over your own health. It gives you to tool you need.

This book was an eye-closer for me
This book was truly an eye opener for me. Actually, it was an eye closer for me. I'll explain why. This book has an entire chapter dedicated to Herbal Recipes. I have suffered from insomnia for years. And I have tried both over the counter and prescription sleeping pills to help me sleep. Although I have had some success with them, I found them to be habit-forming. This book has given me a natural, non-addictive alternative, in the form of an herbal tea, to help cure my insomnia without any side effects. Prior to listening to this book, I knew nothing about using Ashwagandha root extract along with milk and honey just before going to bed to induce sleepiness. Now that I have learned about Ashwagandha root extract, I will never return to using harmful and dangerous sleeping pills to help me sleep.

I especially loved the chapter about recipes and teas and am excited to try out these natural remedies. I don’t happen to struggle with insomnia, but if you do, this book has a lot of herbs that may help. I’ve been reminded of how amazing our natural world is and what it can do for us!

HEALING BY NATURE!
Herbal Recipes are covered in-depth in this book's complete chapter. I've had insomnia for a long time. And to help me fall asleep, I've tried both over-the-counter and prescription sleeping drugs. Despite having some success with them, I discovered that they were habit-forming. With the use of a herbal tea, which I learned about in this book, I can now treat my sleeplessness without suffering any negative side effects.
I had no prior knowledge of utilising Ashwagandha root extract with milk and honey right before bed to promote sleep before listening to this book. As soon as I discover about Ashwagandha root extract, I will stop taking unsafe sleeping drugs that are harmful to my health.
The narration was well-done and on point.

This is a great guide to 101 Herbs and their benefits to your health, sleep, mental health and overall well-being. There has been a very relevant surge in people growing and using herbs, and this is an excellent beginner's guide to how to get into this world. The benefits are vast and far beyond what I realised - plus I am certainly going to be making some of the delicious teas!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about herbal healing.
I was a beginner in herbalism, but I know a lot after listening to this audiobook.
This was a wonderful book that helped me overcome my insomnia in completely natural ways.
I really enjoyed the herbal teas section of the book. Preparing each herbal tea and tasting it after brewing is a new experience in my life.
