Publisher's summary

Did you know that developing self-regulation and emotional well-being skills help your child by 12 percent to have high academic success and decreases by 42 percent their physical aggression by their peers?

Self-regulation in kids is a proactive, self-directed process for attaining goals, learning skills, coping with big feelings, and managing emotional reactions, which fuels children to become socially and emotionally engaged lifelong learners. After listening to this book, you will have a clear answer to these questions:

  • How can you promote and support self-regulation in your child's development?
  • How can you help your child to build self-discipline?
  • What strategy can you use to relax and calm your child while angry?
  • How do you manage your child's negative feedback?
  • What changes in approach or strategy should you make to develop self-regulation and control in your child?

To promote self-regulation in a child, you don't need to avoid difficult situations for kids to handle.

When children struggle with self-regulation, it often leads to behavior that makes them feel even worse and creates very stressful situations for other family members. By developing self-regulation and control, you will learn:

  • How to identify and explore their big emotions, unhelpful thoughts, and feelings.
  • How to handle children's thoughts, anger, excitement, anxiety, and sadness.
  • How to use self-regulation strategies in any naturally occurring situations and learn to calm the child's body.
  • How to make a choice and a plan.
  • How to identify and be prepared for a condition that may be tricky for them to navigate.

This book is an easy-to-understand guide for parents, filled with engaging scenarios, plans, and methods that show kids how to be mindful to work through challenging emotions and feel happier. Therefore, if you need a variety of "essentials" to help your kids learn about their thoughts, feelings, behavior, and actions, then this book is for you and every caregiver. Enjoy the listen.

Emotional Well-Being In Kids

My partner and I have three children, two of them are often badly behaved and we are often at our wit's end not knowing what to do. We had a good listen to this audiobook and it's given us several ideas. I'm sure, like everyone, we all want the best for our kids. This book shows you how to help your kids build self-discipline. These are trying times and it's even worse for youngsters these days as they feel they have to compete with everything and everyone. This book will help you build better mental health for your child and smooth out that passage into adulthood.

A Great Book

As children grow into adults it’s important that they understand how to regulate their emotions. This book teaches how you can help your child to not suppress those strong feelings that they have, but also not be overpowered by them. Overall, this book was one of the most informative books that I have read in a long time. I would strongly recommend this book to parents who want to raise emotionally intelligent children.

A gem

The book is a gem for new parents, guardians or anyone with children. This book guides how to understand and motivate their kids. Kids learn what their parents do, so parents have to be an example. It also provides some parenting tips and how environmental, emotional and social factors affect them and how to solve them.
As traditional strict parents raised me, I can't do the same to my children. I find this book a different yet fascinating approach to parenting. I want to practice what I've learned here with my kids for a good relationship when I have some in future.

Excellent Advice!!

I have a few friends that are parents and can definitely benefit from this audiobook. The author does an excellent job at teaching a parent how to regulate their emotions in order to help their child's emotional needs too. How a parent behaves around or to their child has an enormous effect on the child's life. We want to be our best self when raising children. No one's perfect, but we can do our best. I highly recommend this audiobook! Nice work Reshad!

Amazing and Practical Information!

This book is absolutely amazing ! I worked in the social work field for years and wish I had this book to give to all of my foster parents ! The information and techniques provided in this book are life changing in raising children.

The author details how self regulation helps children recognize the source of their problems and, in turn, allows them to control impulsive behaviors. The goal is inner peace, which is absolutely priceless.

The author also states that humans start developing regulatory skills at the age of 3. As parents, we must demonstrate these skills for our children earth on. The author also stresses that listening to our kids and empathizing with their feelings helps children feel respected and valued.

I was excited to learn that I’ve already been practicing some of these techniques with my 9 year old! The author lists methods to help kids regulate their emotions. A few that stood out;

1. Help the kids Develop emotional intelligence by helping them identify emotions , identify reasons behind them, solve problems and act appropriately.
2. Ask child what are you Feeling right now ? Shift from behaviors to the meaning behind it.
Praise kids for their efforts and hard work as opposed to natural abilities.
3. Teach optimism
4. Teach emotional intelligence
5. Teach self discipline

This book was just amazing from start to finish! I give it a 2 thumbs up!
