About this listen

“I have looked across the arc of my dreams and seen Coel’s death in all 360 degrees of it. The circle of his destiny shall tighten like a noose upon him in less than one of your years...”

Coel’s journey eastward with the sorcerer Reza Walladid earned him the wrath of the Hobgoblin Hordes' the Lord of the Assassins. The terrible secret he discovered there could turn humanity against him, yet now it must be revealed. Now nation after nation falls before the Horde’s inexorable march west, either slaughtered and eaten in battle or accepting the Horde’s terrifying terms of surrender. In every shadow, Assassin daggers lurk.

Once again Coel must ride east, into the teeth of the invasion with a band of heroes upon a suicide mission. They are a gesture, unsanctioned by Church or King. With no chance of victory, there is one forlorn gift they might give the failing west.

The most terrifying thing of all. Hope.

Surrounded by enemies on all sides, once again Coel finds his only refuge is honor. Once again, Coel finds there is only one path to follow. The Heroes Road.

This had me with a tear rolling down my cheek and then cracking up moments later. Books just don’t do that to me. Amazing story, amazing voice acting. Amazing production.

One of the best audio series

Hero’s Road is an incredible audiobook that brings its world to life with rich storytelling and immersive details. The diverse cast of voice actors makes the setting feel vibrant and authentic, giving each character a distinct personality that draws you in. The story itself is gripping, filled with well-crafted twists and deep character development that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

One of the standout aspects is how the author weaves in real historical locations and names, adding layers of authenticity that make the world feel lived-in and believable. The narration is top-notch, with excellent pacing and delivery that enhance the emotional weight of key moments. The sound design and subtle background effects further immerse you in the journey, making it feel almost cinematic. Additionally, the dialogue is sharp and natural, making conversations between characters engaging and realistic.

Overall, Hero’s Road is a masterfully crafted audiobook that excels in storytelling, world-building, and performance. Highly recommended for anyone who loves an immersive and well-told adventure!

It made me weep

How much more can a man take, i have read so many stories and i have never seen a main character be tortured and destroyed this much and faced so much boundless loss. There were moments that i was listening and cursing chuck rogers for how evil he was to create such a story. When a book makes u react with such passion you have to admit that the book is good

Nice Moves

Chuck Rogers writes a great plot. This book is listenable and enjoyable, moving like a lean, trim action story and at times slowing the pace for the right kind of dalliance. The performance aspect and ambient noise take some getting used to as do the soundscape ideas such as having words “deep” in the sound around them. I don’t find it off putting nor do I think it was performed bad in any way. Quite the opposite. A great installment on an awesome series.

Chuck you've done it again

You thought book one was a roller-coaster?
strap on tight lads, chuck wasn't playing around, there is only one issue I had with the story, and hope to see the reasoning behind it in book 3
I like Joy, such a pure and innocent soul, but cmon man, cut Crisspy Kole some slack, brother can't catch a break, still think it was a letdown seeing our two love birds go through hell together only for them to break up over something so odd

Snorri again being the besto friendo
I give book 2 a solid 8.9/10

The highs and the lows, you're there with him every step of the way.

I can only hope you are ready to truly feel the tragedies and the victories of this guys life, cuz when he succeeds and he is with his friends oh man is it some of the best most cathartic wins I have felt. But by that same token, oh man, does it hurt when he feels the tragedies and loss. Nothing else to say, besides telling you, be ready to go on this journey with Coel. While you can prepare yourself for what's going to happen in this one, you're gonna watch as every gut wrenching twist hits Coel harder than the last. The story only goes on from here and it's going to be good.
