Eh. Michael Kramer would've been way better

Some of the performers sounded off in their timing and demeanor. The others did a great job. But after hearing Michael Kramer read a section of this book in Arcanum Unbounded, I just couldn't go back. I finished this volume and still continue with the story, but man do I wish they had a version with just Kramer reading. He's so on point and perfectly executes every character. Who knows? Maybe someday.

There's a reason you don't hear many footsteps in movies.

The story is a very fun one. I like finally listening about characters that have been mentioned throughout the cosmere for some time now. The magic system is pretty awesome too, very creative.

Unfortunately the dramatization suffers from someone not proof listening to the final product. The sound editing was either rushed or not checked by a listener of books. I get that it's supposed to be an adaptation of a graphic novel and that it's also DRAMATIZED but some sections are almost unlistenable due to the exaggerated amounts of footsteps and background.

Aside from that I really enjoyed the story and am probably going to splurge for the GN. Please if audible takes notes of these or the publishing companies do, please reedit some of the sounds for them and re-release them!!

Story is great - Kenton’s voice is annoying

The story is wonderful as is all Sanderson books but Kenton’s voice actor is whiny and annoying. He also changes Kenton’s accent towards the end of the book??

Great story, too much aargh, mphfff etc.

The story is very interesting I really liked it. However it was like a Dragon ball episode. It was full of aaargh and other sounds like this. Those were a but too much. Also at the end of the audiobook there is a recomendqtion which starts with a huge scream. That was way too loud and horrible.

With permission from Brandon

I was concerned about buying this because I couldn’t find out if this was an unauthorized version that would cheat the author. I searched online and asked some fan sites and no one knew. I decided to try it and finally at the end credits it was confirmed that this was created with permission from Brandon Sanderson. The performance was very enjoyable and I am happily getting the rest.

Fun and captivating story

I really enjoyed the book. I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews. I definitely like the traditional audio book but this was a lot of fun. I didn’t mind the sound effects. I also purposely didn’t listen to the prose sample in Arcanum Unbounded so I wouldn’t try to compare it. I love the Cosmere and am truly excited about Sand Mastery and the innovative nature of a planet that does not rotate.

Brandon Sanderson Graphic Novel? Yes please!!!

Three things combined to make this awesome: Brandon Sanderson's writing, a full audio cast, and graphic novel. I can't wait to start volume 2!
