About this listen

Highland Blessings is the story of a highland warrior who kidnaps the daughter of his greatest enemy and clan chief to honor a promise he made to his dying father.

Bryce MacPhearson, a highland warrior, kidnaps Akira MacKenzie on her wedding day to honor a promise he made to his dying father. While Akira's strength in the Lord becomes a witness to Bryce, she struggles to overcome her anger and resentment when he forces her to wed him, hoping to end a half-century-old feud between their clans. While Akira begins to forgive and Bryce learns to trust, a series of murders leaves a trail of unanswered questions, confusion, and a legacy of hate that once again rises between their families. Clearly a traitor is in their midst. Now the one man Akira loves no longer trusts her, and her own life is in danger. Can Bryce look beyond his pain and seek the truth? Will Akira discover the threat against her before it's too late? How will God turn a simple promise into bountiful Highland blessings?

Great story line. One of the best narrators I’ve heard. She’s very dramatic. Look forward to listening to more books by this author.

Loved it!

This was my first Jennifer Hudson Taylor book, and I’m now a fan.
I loved the storyline and the characters, and their faith in God. The narrator was excellent as well.
I highly recommend this book.

Couldn’t Stop Listening

This first book in the Highland series is filled with unpredictable plot twists and surprises. While it is a polite love story, it doesn’t dwell on mushy encounters.
Also, I enjoyed listening because the reader’s voice is so authentic, like a native Scott.

Delightful story of Feminine Strength

This was a really nice story with many twists. A love story without the details. I really enjoyed this book and the readers inflections.

Great Mystery

Really enjoyed this book and the religious content in it. I love the time. But it is hard to find books that aren’t very erotic or vulgar. Loved the storyline and loved watching their love blossom

Sweet highland story minus the sex

The only problem with guessing the villain early is that the book seems longer when you have to wait to find out if you are right. 😋. Actually this was not a long story but just right. There is a lot of adventure. The characters were well developed and interesting. And an actual side story about teaching a young person skills that most people from that time did not know how to do and thus thought that young person could never survive on his own … that he was “dumb”. But he ends up being the key to the mystery. The heroine can get mewly sometimes which can get on your nerves and the hero gets distracted a lot but overall the book was good. The narrator is very talented and does a good brogue.

good book

I enjoyed the struggles, deaths & aftermath. Softly whispered prayers are so fitting for the characters and do not hinder the story flow. The nasty relative in the dungeon a bit scary. I like this book & will re-listen to it. Good narration.
