Publisher's summary

A mercenary haunted by his sinister past...

Gregor MacLachlan has much to hide. Not only has he made a name for himself as a man with a sword for hire, but no one knows his true identity as that of the laird of MacLachlan's son. Banished from his home, Gregor has been content with his life, never relying on anyone or anything - until Fiona.

A powerful Druid priestess...

Fiona Sinclair depends on one person - herself. She learned early on that she was alone in this world, a world that took her sisters and her parents. Yet the call to Druids Glen is strong, and the man responsible for her parents' death stalks her. There is only one man who can get her safely to the glen, but can she afford the price Gregor asks when it means giving up both her freedom... and her heart?

Critic reviews

"Grant grabs the reader by the throat early on with a plausible and suspenseful plot, characters readers will root for, and snappy prose, and she doesn't let up until the cliff-hanger ending. This first-class thrill ride will leave readers wanting more." ---Publishers Weekly Starred Review

More intrigue

The reader would have meet Gregor in Highland Mist #1 and in this book he is asked to go retrieve Fiona Sinclair and bring her to her sisters.

Fiona is a very fiesty woman who is well aware of her powers and has been trained to use them. Her control is spectacular and when she uses her gifts throughout the book it is always dramatic.

Gregor's secrets come out in this book along with regrets, forgiveness and love. Everything becomes more of a reality as the reader goes through the pages of the book further into the storyline.

Fiona and Gregor are like oil and water together creating a very volcanic relationship. From the start the reader will notice that this couple is more alike than they can ever imagine. For this reader they are perfect for each other is all ways.

This rates 4 stars for the volcanic relationship between Fiona and Gregor.

Loved Fiona & Gregor

Both these characters were extremely interesting. Fiona was very feisty & had good reasons for her views. Gregor we met in book 1, he was likable but we were never sure who he stood with, it kept us guessing. Great narration by Ms Urquhart.

Liking Her Style

Ms. Grant writes worlds. people, ages and weaves series through series. All this is wrapped in hot romance. Did I say the performance rocks?

The sister of Water

This is the second in the Druid Glen series and is connected to the Shield and the Royal Chronicles by Mystic Trinity (formally known as Dragonfyre). This book was enjoyed via Audible Escape.

Fiona, the middle sister, is a druid that is a part of a 300-year-old prophecy. Adopted by a different clan shortly after the murder of her parents to keep her safe. As the time of the prophecy approaches, she is to be reunited with her sisters and is escorted by Gregor, a banished son of a Laird. The two must reconcile with their families in order and deal with their own personal losses before they can come together.

Worth getting through, but narrator saved it.

Excellent performance but characters were frequently written annoying and she sold it. Also, pick your top 5 irritating cliches, one will be in this.
