Publisher's summary

Beaten and left for dead, Sir Lucas Murray is a man wounded in body and soul. He has brought himself back to becoming the warrior he once was - except for his ruined leg and the grief he feels over the death of the woman he once loved...the same woman who led him into his enemies' hands. Dressed as a masked reiver, it is Katerina Haldane who saves Lucas as he battles for his life - and for revenge. Shocked that she still lives, Lucas becomes desperate to ignore the desire raging through his body. And Katerina becomes desperate to regain his trust, trying to convince him of her half-sister's role in his beating. Lucas is reluctant to let down his guard, but his resistance melts once Katerina is back in his arms...and his bed. Now he must learn to trust his instincts-in battle and in love.

This story is Savage

Unlike most of her stories, this story by Hannah Howell is especially bloody. There is a lot of torturous scenes and lots of blood. If that bothers you, don’t listen. This is the story of Lucas, twin brother of Artan from the previous book. Both brothers were fostered out to be trained in war under the auspices of their distant older cousin. Both brothers are true warriors. Both brothers aren’t very good with words, the downfall of both their romantic relationships. We saw what happened to Artan’s relationship so now it’s time to see what happens to Lucas because of his lack of verbal skills. It is like listening to two different stories; the violent one and the romance. Very interesting. Although Kat is a very strong and independent woman she has a habit of thinking too much but never coming to a set decision. At least not where Lucas is concerned. Lucas is a nonverbal man but he doesn’t think enough where Kat is concerned and even when he makes a decision about what to do he procrastinates. It comes down to the usual problems. They just need to talk their problems out but they are too busy in the bedroom.

Twins may look alike but Lucas is my Favorite!

Books 13 and 14 are about the Murray twins, Atan and Lucas. Their stories are as different as their personalities. After a savage beating and the "death" of his Lady Love, Lucas returns for revenge. Only he finds his Lady Love is already in the process of avenging his believed death - My favorite Part of this Book is a Strong Female Lead Character. So when the two of them get together to "put things to right and settle their believed heartbreaks" sparks fly.

Hannah, please continue to give us lots more of the Murray family! I love it.

To much talk at the end of the book

Most of the book was great. The problem is HH ends all her books with a lot of talk about feelings. "Do I love her, oh my I do, oh now do I have to say it, she has to say it first, oh I'll say it first, no I can't say it until she does, and so on and on and on!!!!!" "HE LOVES ME HE LOVES ME NOT HE LOVES ME HE LOVES ME NOT" Give it a rest already.

Highland Savage

This is the 14th book in the Murray family series. Lucas, one of the Murray twins, was severely beaten year ago and left for dead. His last memory was his beloved Katerina. But when he goes back to her keep he finds out that many of what he remembered was not correct. He helps her in recapturing her home from her devious half sister. This story has both love and suspense that keeps you reading. Their journey has many twists and turns up till the end. I read this years ago and enjoyed rereading it again. Listening to the narrator was what kept me listening till the end.

Another very entertaining story

I read about a dozen of the Murray family series now, and each one is as entertaining as the other. Great stories of love, war, intrigue, and families

Dead or Not?

Lucas & Katerina
What a strong female character. This story is so tragic. It is horrible what Lucas and Katerina have to go through to be together. This is truly a great story, with twists and turns. I know it’s boy meets girl and boy and girl fall in love, but somehow Hannah Howell can make each story so different. Just when you think they can’t be much difference in the stories to a series this long. HH proves you wrong by giving you something new and fresh! Totally worth reading the whole series! Love these books!
