About this listen

Trapped between worlds. Potentia might be the way out. Time to kill Something.

Luke is an apprentice leather worker, training with his family to one day take over the business. He and his friends Andre, Taylor, and Zed have known each other forever, and swear that nothing will ever tear apart their friendship.

Then the Royal Decree comes. With the Dynasty of Dogs invading, and strange monsters appearing in the Hollow Kingdom, a draft has been implemented. Everyone 17 or older is required to be tested for "Potential". If they have it, they will join the mysterious and renowned Ascender Corps. If not, they will be drafted into the Legion as a forced recruit.

Three of the friends test as powerful, or dangerous, classes of Ascender. Luke is found to have Potential, barely, but when he steps through the portal to begin his training…he is pulled to a plane that shouldn't exist. With no class trainer, the possibility of survival is low. Luke decides that he wants to live, and keeping his humanity isn't going to help.

His best chance is going Full Murderhobo.

it is really fun to get the perspective of a lot of different characters going through a lot of hard trials. Lots of puns and I laughed a lot.

very enjoyable

This birthday ok was definitely Something and if the goats don’t get you the bloopers will. It may be Cal adjacent but it has everything Dakota Krout is known for and Something else. I enjoyed the new narrator though I love the narrator of old too. I do suggest you pick this up today and get ready for Anything soon.

Something will get your goat…

This is a good narrator. I personally liked all of the stories. Don't let other people's reviews discourage you from getting this book.

you won't regret it

It made me laugh. Problem solving at its best. Great reading by narrator. Wanting more.

When the bad guy is a goat.

The story is light and entertaining as the book title clearly implies. listen all the way through for the bloopers at the end. They were "coffee shooting out my nose and still laughing" funny.

So unusual, and yet highly entertaining

loved it. Was great except doe the times the characters stats would be verbalized. It would take me out of the story sometimes. The Murderhobo is awesome. Goat bleep!

Awesome narration, fun story

I kinda wish it focused more on Luke. The other characters seemed like redundant filler. First books in a series are often like that since there is tons of backstory and universe brick laying that needs to be fleshed out.

1)Friend chapter>
2)friend is treated like mushroom by mentor>
3)friend comes out of training stronger that anyone could have imagined...

the only training the book didn’t really go in to detail about was Zed. The way the story began it felt like the story was supposed to center around Luke? I suppose that’s artistic license... idk. I loved the book! I can’t wait for the next one.

Over all loved it!

This book hit me out of nowhere as I did not know it was coming out. It was one from Dakota I said hell yes I will give it a try here I am several days later looking forward to the next in the series. I very much like LIT RPG setup and this new gem of a world has left almost everything up for grabs as it is set in world with portals and multi-dimensions and goats
Overall the setting is relatively standard as it is fantasy
There is a ton of terrible cringe-worthy humor, and if you like anything Dakota has written you'll like this.
I feel as this purchase was well worth the money and I gained hours of enjoyment listening to it.

Absurd and wonderful.

narrator made a solid attempt at ruining a good book. most male voices sounded the same. the girl voices were annoying and terrible, his system voice was by far the worst.
On the other hand dakota produced another stunning litrpg book! can't wait for the next and to see how it ties in with the rest if the universe

good story, mediocre narration

This is my first review of a book. If you liked the Travelers trilogy by Will Wight you will like this book. The character development and character building in this book is well done each characters distinct and their own facets and how they use the Assets in this book he does have references to his other books in here it's not necessary to know them but they're nice to see when you do lison to his other books. I think one of my favorite parts of this book is how drastically different the characters are from each other and having them work together. One of my favorite parts of Magic books is seeing different types of magic and I think this book bring that idea straight to the Forefront so if you're looking for a book that shows different types of magic besides standard magic you'll like this book the narrator sometimes a little bit hard to listen to it seems like he's emphasizing some words in the Middle where they don't need to be but once he get reading it that kind of disappears when he's using his voices for the characters and the narration is very minimal you kind of lose that. I'm a big fan of this book and would recommend this book. Can't wait till the next one.

Can't wait for the next!!!!
