About this listen

Trapped between worlds. Potentia might be the way out. Time to kill Something.

Luke is an apprentice leather worker, training with his family to one day take over the business. He and his friends Andre, Taylor, and Zed have known each other forever, and swear that nothing will ever tear apart their friendship.

Then the Royal Decree comes. With the Dynasty of Dogs invading, and strange monsters appearing in the Hollow Kingdom, a draft has been implemented. Everyone 17 or older is required to be tested for "Potential". If they have it, they will join the mysterious and renowned Ascender Corps. If not, they will be drafted into the Legion as a forced recruit.

Three of the friends test as powerful, or dangerous, classes of Ascender. Luke is found to have Potential, barely, but when he steps through the portal to begin his training…he is pulled to a plane that shouldn't exist. With no class trainer, the possibility of survival is low. Luke decides that he wants to live, and keeping his humanity isn't going to help.

His best chance is going Full Murderhobo.

Loved this story, one of the best Litrpg stories I've read in a long time

This book is great!!!

Dakota Krout did an amazing job on this book. It has so much humor and the perfect amount of action. My first time with Christian J. Gilliand for narration but did an excellent job. Overall 100% worth the money or the credit. I can’t wait! for more.

I like it

I have seen reviews that didn’t care for the story. I’ve read most of what DK has written and I like this one. I love the easter eggs and Luke is a really fun character. Sadly the performance leaves something to be desired. The narrator does a strange and quite frankly creepy female voice. His take on Luke’s sister gives me nightmares. There is also a number of words that he mispronounced. You have one job, and if you aren’t sure, google it.

Great story! Bad narrator...

It's really a testament to Dakota Krout that I did not put this down halfway

Fantastic

Story was honestly pretty good, narrator definitely made the story and the bloopers at the end were hilarious.

I can't get enough of the full murder hobo!

Took me a second to understand which direction it was going but it was so worth it. I can not wait until the next book! It was so fun all the way through, even though at the end of the book you'll hate goats too. Highly recommend if you read Dakota's books before but it's not necessary to read anything else before this one.

A love letter wrapped in a novel

Dakota has written a beautiful novel that again takes what you know about dnd fantasy turns it on its head and digs deep, all while letting fans know they are loved. This book returned some of the silliness of earlier books while bringing something new and interesting to the table can’t wait for the next one.

FUN AND CREATIVE NEED MORE BOOKS

Read the title.
It's a pretty fun book that has a DnD feel but you know, with a murderhobo.

Unique but somewhat stiff

A new unique story, however there were several pieces that were very long and didn't add to the story. Along with a couple of parts that just felt rough.

Surprisingly good for the title

Though the beginning has some common tropes, there is excellent character development and intriguing magic systems
