About this listen

Writer-actor-director Peter Gerard's latest film was a smash hit, but some fans of Sherlock Holmes were outraged. Why? Because 221 B Bourbon Street portrayed the beloved detective as a goateed, saxophone-playing Southern American working in 1920s New Orleans!

Was it a disgruntled Sherlockian or someone else who hated Gerard enough to kill him twice? That is what mystery writer and college Professor Sebastian McCabe, assisted by brother-in-law Jeff Cody, must find out before McCabe's own disgraceful involvement in the affair comes to light. And it will take a little stage magic to do it.

Amid this challenging mystery, Jeff's complicated relationship with the lovely journalist Lynda Teal seems to be reaching a definitive resolution just as Jeff approaches his birthday.

Listeners who so enjoyed the best-selling No Police Like Holmes will find this sequel packed with the same suspense, surprises, and sharp humor that characterized the debut adventure of Sebastian McCabe and Jeff Cody.

When you have a strange group of look a likes, and a somewhat infamous movie maker, that is assaulted and later murdered. Questionable finances and questionable college degrees are thrown in to make a great who done it.

It is an Interesting story, but a little long. Good narration. Reasonable Sherlock Holmes connections.

Well, I seem to have managed to miss the first book in this series, shame on me! /0\ Nevertheless, I could follow the story with no problem.

And it was a great story! I really liked the main characters and had a lot of fun following their investigation. The mystery was really good; the clues were all there and the resolution very logical.

I most certainly will be reading the rest of the series.

Very good!

I thoroughly enjoyed Holmes Sweet Holmes by Dan Andriacco. Writer-actor-director Peter Gerard is apparently murdered twice while visiting the college - or did he?! Professor Sebastian McCabe and his brother-in-law are intent on solving the crime and saving the academic department. There was a lot of academic infighting which was true to life (remembering my time in grad school and academic career). The story was very entertaining and a classic mystery with many Holmes and other literary references. The narrator, Tom Lennon, was fabulous! He brought the characters to life and made the story that much more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful academic mystery

This was very intriguing and entertaining. I enjoyed the case of misdirection and seeing how it all took place. Jeff is quite endearing. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. I highly recommend this book.
