When the Saulnier sisters suffer one disappointment too many in their native France, they decide to pack up and try their luck in America. I absolutely love this book! I thought it would be more about the European diet but turns out it’s more about their exploration of America with a “side dish” about the food.

Recipes seem like padding
Some cute and interesting stories looking at America from foreign eyes but the inclusion of recipes is weird and unnecessary, esp given some of the topics touched upon in this book. I wish the author had spent more time casting an eye on her fellow New Yorkers.

not really about food. more about their crazy adventures and they yeah they are some food. not why they chose to eat what they did. how the food shaped their adventures. like a true French meal. you leave the table still a little hungry
