A story of female friendship.

I've listened to this book several times now. I love it all. The narration, the characters and the wonderful spectacle of a group of broken women supporting, growing and healing themselves and each other with love. It shows the real beauty that can result if women would just hold each other up.

This was one of my favorite books in a very long time. The story and the writing were excellent. The performances were as well. I did not want it to end!

Great stor horrible "over acting"

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It took me several attempts and to be left with only this to read before I actually got past the horrible cartoony voices to enjoy the writing and story.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The voices were so exaggerated and cartoony it was so distracting worse were the child, the mother that came to camp out and the male voices. SOOOOO annoying!

Any additional comments?

The story was fantastic and I was glad I followed through but it would be better in Kindle form.

Friendship helping to overcome

I found it hard to stop listening due to the humanness of the main characters. Sometimes my eyes grew misty other times I laughed out loud.

I have lost count of the number of times I have finished a Robyn Carr book and thought, that was absolutely wonderful!

Great story/great writing

It started a little slow but as the characters developed I could not stop listening! Heartwarming, funny at times and heartbreaking and frustrating at others, like a piece of real life!
I loved the narration, it just took me a little while to get used to her voice. All and all it was a great book!
I’ve read many of author’s other books before, and they were just a fun read to me! However after this one I found a whole lot of new respect for her as a capable writer with amazing insight into human psyche!

Slow to develop but I loved it!

A different story about women’s messy lives, very touching! It showed how unconditional love and support can change lives.

Worth the read. Terrible narration.

The book was quite lovely. It was inspirational and reflective. Not a must read, but a "worth the read." However, the narration was awful. If she would have just stuck to one or two characters that would have been great, but the way she tried to do so many different characters was just too much. She failed miserably. Again, the book is a good "chick book" though. :-) I would recommend it. Just don't expect much from the narrator.

enjoyed the read

This book reminded me of a slow Sunday afternoon spent with seniors sharing memories of days long past and lives well lived. A perfect day for me, but may be a bit slow for some
