About this listen

Still reeling from her young son's death, Jackie Sheppard retreats to a small town in the Colorado Rockies. Comforted that no one knows of her tragic past, she's thrilled to take a job at a family law firm, where she meets Tom, the local carpenter. Jackie's distrust of others hinders their relationship, but they slowly build a budding romance.

However, as she begins to settle into her new life, disturbing things start happening to Jackie - objects are moved around her house, an indentation of a body appears on her freshly made bed, and a bouquet of wildflowers are inexplicably left by her door. With eccentric residents in the town, Jackie dismisses the oddities, but as Tom's checkered background reveals that his wife and child were murdered, Jackie believes she may be the next target of a sadistic killer.

Acclaimed for its strong characters and thrilling plot, Mind Tryst is Robyn Carr's only psychological suspense novel. Delighting fans of suspense since 1993, it will continue to leave listeners looking over their shoulders long after they've finished.

Held me captive to the end

This is one of Robyn Carrs best in my opinion. I have read many of her wonderful stories but this one I could not put down. Reader was excellent as well.

Like night and day !

The last Robyn Carr book I read was Four Friends... this one is completely different, and not at all the typical storyline for R.C., but both were VERY good . Great character development, and both kept me interested from beginning to end

Funny,

I love the Virgin River series so much, but the girls in this story will keep your attention just as much if you like the girls hanging out and telling stories about their husbands and family..

WOW

Okay even thought I figured it out about half way through, the story was still so amazingly written and told that it kept me hooked all the way through and there were definitely some twist in there that just aren't revealed until the end.

The basic premise is a youngish woman, who has faced horrible loss in her life and decides to escape the big city for the quite life in a small town in Colorado. But the small town idyllic life has some surprises. She makes a few friends (its hard to break into the life of a small town) and weird things start happening in her house, and other houses around the town. Something isn't right and no one really trust her instincts and at times those instincts do border on crazy. the odd relationship between her ex husband and his new wife throws a wrench of a different sort in there as she works to solve these strange happenings in this town and decide weather or not she would be better off just returning to LA.

great book

Would you consider the audio edition of Mind Tryst to be better than the print version?

I only listened to the audio.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jacque, she is a very strong a courageous woman

Have you listened to any of Christina Traister’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I have not.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, not only did it keep you guessing but I live in the Wet Mountain Valley which made it more fun for me.

Any additional comments?

If the book references actual places maybe a little research should be done to assure correct pronunciation of the towns. Otherwise great job.

Loved it

Different from her other books. Characters were well developed. Just enough clues along the way to help you solve the mystery, yet keep you guessing.

Surprised

This book was fascinating and interesting. I liked it very much and would recommend it to anyone. I gave it five starts on every category because it was all fantastic. I love Robyn Carr but stayed away from this one because it wasn’t my typical book. Glad I branched out. It was worth it!
