About this listen

Four sisters. One family secret. And a chance to fix the past...

Kate Hannigan is in charge of her late mother's estate, and she has a plan: divide everything evenly, including the old family house on the harbor. What she doesn't realize is that her mother changed the will. Now, a family secret hangs in the balance.

Meanwhile, her sister, Amelia, a struggling off-Broadway actress, enlists her hapless construction boyfriend to help with a local project, but he's more interested in summer tourists.

Second-youngest, Megan, is preoccupied with her divorce...but not too preoccupied to make a dating profile, much to her sisters' mortification.

Baby of the family, Clara, is single and refuses to date. She puts her teaching job above all else. Until a crushing revelation calls into question everything she knew to be true...including her own past.

while this is just a fictional story it does emphasize the deviance, cunning and lieing nature of the female gender. when a mother treated her own daughter as a sister for 30 years it just shows to what extent women will go to hide a lie. I was let down by the repeating of the story and the length of time wasted to get to a conclusion.

It took me a minute to get into the story line. Once I did it was a good story. The reader was a bit dull to me.

This did not work for me. The narration was like a virtual voice. It ruined the experience so it's really hard to judge the rest of it. The book probably has potential but it got lost in the bad narration.

Thumbs down

Characters and story underdeveloped. Story had potential but was too choppy in developing the story line.

Potential story line never developed.

After 4 hours into this book, I decided I couldn't take it anymore and stopped reading despite a great narrator. There is so much alluding to a secret or revelation in every chapter but they never reveal it in the 1st 4 hours of this short book!

This book is painful to get through
