About this listen

Acclaimed as the essential guide for parents of children between the ages of three and six, this work is based on Dr. Severe’s philosophy that children’s behavior is often a reflection of their parents’. Each chapter teaches parents to adjust their own behavior to better handle a host of critical issues, such as fussing at bedtime, tantrums, sibling rivalry, toilet training, setting limits, and more. The focus is not on what is wrong, but on what parents can do right.

Critic reviews

"The book is particularly helpful for first-time parents, who will find Severe's step-by-step prescriptions what to do when a toddler has a tantrum or how to handle time-outs invaluable." ( Publishers Weekly)

Great book. In addition to the helpful teachings- If you didn’t have “great” role modeling parents in your own childhood, the last two hours will give you a quick “how to be a good parent” lesson. Not for babies, but for preschoolers. Great quick guide for how to deal with everyday issues. Would recommend this book.
