Helpful and healthy approach to dating

Big fan of Dr Cloud's books. So,when I found out he had a book on dating, I had to hear it. I wish he would've read it, but other than that I was pleased with the book. Changed for the better my approach and outlook on the dating process.

A lot of very useful insights

The audiobook was well done. All the content of the book itself--the advice, the insights, the psychological and sociological analyses of single men and women--are all extremely helpful, especially for someone like me who wasn't given much of these social and emotional "tools" growing up. I think the biblical references are used well and in context. It's light of Bible references though, and could easily apply to someone who isn't a Christian looking for advice about this topic, since the biblical connections to the content are often more implicit than explicit.

The only reason I give 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because I think some of the advice is a few years outdated with modern culture (for secular circles, but I think even more so for many churches). I just personally don't see how someone could date around (ignoring the negative connotations of the phrase) like the author says, because it seems most Christian single women (and probably a lot of Christian men too) associate dating with romance. But maybe it's a matter of semantics at this point. Maybe some might prefer the term "hanging out at Barnes and Noble" to "going on a readerly coffee date". Even so though, I'm still not sure...

Bottom line, the book has a lot of good insights and self-improvement advice. Recommend, and with everything, use discernment.

I live it!

I wish I read this book when I was in college. Selfdiscovery and working through my internal issues would have been a lot more fun with my dates. I realize that dating for no reason is fun!

A must read for all singles!

I love how well this guided and helped me to grow in how to see dating. I believed a lot of wrong ideas and was stuck in my dating. My mind was opened and introduced to how to date well.
