What if you could go anywhere in the world, in the blink of an eye? Where would you go? What would you do
Davy can teleport. To survive, Davy must learn to use and control his power in a world that is more violent and complex than he ever imagined. But mere survival is not enough for him. Davy wants to find others like himself, others who can Jump.

I'm not a heavy sci fi person, but I do enjoy sci fi movies, and I enjoyed this book enough to download what I believe is the second book in the series, Reflex.
Good stuff!
MUCH better than the movie, adult themes

What would you do if you could teleport?
This wasn't high-sci-fi or high-fantasy. The world is more or less our world, except for this one kid who can teleport. He's got real problems with his abusive dad, his girlfriend, the cop downstairs who beats his wife.... oh, yeah, and the NSA.
Definitely worth reading. Will inspire a lot of fantasies and daydreams.
A nice descent into fantasy...

Would you consider the audio edition of Jumper to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version so I can't compare the two.Who was your favorite character and why?
Millie was my favorite character because I believe she really cared for Davy. She understood that revenge would not bring the healing Davy thought it would. I believe she was the only one in the book that knew what was best for Davy, even better than Davy himself.Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Davy took his father to his mother's grave and then to the rehab center. I felt sorry for Davy because of how he was hurt by his father, but I also felt sorry for his father because most likely he had also been hurt by someone just like himself growing up. If Davy isn't careful, he will become his father, because most often "we are what we know."Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reactions for me...didn't laugh or cry. But the book did give me a lot to think about.Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. My chief complaint...foul language. It just isn't necessary to make a book interesting and worth reading. I chose this book for my book club because I saw the movie based on this series.Almost Perfect

If you could sum up Jumper in three words, what would they be?
Inticing, Sci-fi, Young-adult.What other book might you compare Jumper to and why?
I'd prefer not to compare this book to another. This book stood well on its own. An interesting take on the abused hero with a super-power motif. What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Mr Andrews IS Davy. He did just as excellent of a job of giving voice to a young, helpless boy in fear of his abusive father as he did as Davy progressed from a nervous boy on his own, to one testing his metal to a young man seizing control of his destiny. A narrator is perfect when you forget they are reading the story and just imagine you are in the character's head. Mr. Andrews did that.If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Jumper: The Beginning.Any additional comments?
A cute story of adventure. Not an epic saga into the Sci-fi realm, but a fun, light, listen that was easy to follow and enjoyable. A good beginning, teaching us the rules of the book's universe with good character development. An interesting listen that kept my interest
