"Fans of The Office will delight."—SHELBY VAN PELT • "Wickedly funny."—PEOPLE "I could not put it down."—JULIA QUINN • "A workplace sitcom transformed into a romantic comedy novel."ELLE

In this wildly funny and heartwarming office comedy, an admin worker accidentally gains access to her colleagues’ private emails and DMs and decides to use this intel to save her job—a laugh-till-you-cry debut novel you’ll be eager to share with your entire list of contacts, perfect for fans of Anxious People and Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine.

As far as Jolene is concerned, her interactions with her colleagues should start and end with her official duties as an admin for Supershops, Inc. Unfortunately, her irritating, incompetent coworkers don’t seem to understand the importance of boundaries. Her secret to survival? She vents her grievances in petty email postscripts, then changes the text color to white so no one can see. That is until one of her secret messages is exposed. Her punishment: sensitivity training (led by the suspiciously friendly HR guy, Cliff) and rigorous email restrictions.

When an IT mix-up grants her access to her entire department’s private emails and DMs, Jolene knows she should report it, but who could resist reading what their coworkers are really saying? And when she discovers layoffs are coming, she realizes this might just be the key to saving her job. The plan is simple: gain her boss’s favor, convince HR she’s Supershops material, and beat out the competition.

But as Jolene is drawn further into her coworkers' private worlds and realizes they are each keeping secrets, her carefully constructed walls begin to crumble—especially around Cliff, who she definitely cannot have feelings for. Eventually she will need to decide if she’s ready to leave the comfort of her cubicle, even if that means coming clean to her colleagues.

Crackling with laugh-out-loud dialogue and relatable observations, I Hope This Finds You Well is a fresh and surprisingly tender comedy about loneliness and love beyond our computer screens. This sparkling debut novel will open your heart to the everyday eccentricities of work culture and the undeniable human connection that comes along with it.

"Wickedly funny . . . This sparkling debut will have you snickering in the break room."—PEOPLE

“Snarky, romantic, and wickedly heartfelt . . . If you’re looking for your next favorite read, this book has everything—vengeful coworkers, fake engagements, and a hero with a heart of gold. Natalie Sue’s debut is an absolute stunner!”—ASHLEY POSTON, New York Times bestselling author of The Dead Romantics

Editorial Review

A comedy of corporate errors
Working her desk job may not have been Jolene’s dream, but now, caught in an HR debacle that has granted her access to all the nasty emails her colleagues have been writing about her, she is living a true corporate nightmare. And, as you can imagine, I Hope This Finds You Well found me with a satisfied smirk on my face because listening to petty (yet presumably private) grievances unfold among coworkers is always entertaining. In addition to offering hours of juicy gossip (that I couldn’t wait to share with my fellow editors in our own office space), Natalie Sue’s debut moved me with its unapologetically honest look at how human nature clashes with corporate culture. — Haley H., Audible Editor

Jolene’s inner thoughts were woefully familiar and I loved how she progressed in what felt like an honest way.

Loved this book. Couldn’t stop listening. I was nervous about half way through as I anticipated all the ways it could end and I only wanted it to end with hope. For many people involved.

Deeper than expected and lovely story

The main character made some hilarious moves in the office that we can all relate to, but is also very frustrating at times when the insecurity holds her back from obvious actions. Still, a good journey to enjoy and laugh while hoping she finds her way.

Characters

Loved the raw emotions the subject matter that is hard to bring up in conversation. The character development and friendships that developed.

Great Performance

It was funny, but at times cringy. A good reminder we should all practice empathy and kindness without judgement. One never knows what a person is/has gone through.

Great Narration

The story is good, but main character is a bit annoying. But once you push through, and understand her trauma, you can tolerate her better.

Completely vapid main character

The readers voice and cadence is completely annoying. The over the top accents are distracting. I couldn’t even get halfway through.

Story was awesome

Such a good book. The connections with the characters and learning about the people and their lives. Such a good book about caring about others and about your self. One of my favorites.

Sadder than expected

Read this from a book club recommendation and was incorrectly assuming this to be a rom com. Instead, it was a slightly funny, but primarily sad look at trauma, bullying, and mental health. I wasn’t prepared, but I ended up really caring about the characters and finishing the book in a day. I won’t say it was overtly enjoyable, but the humorous parts were fun and the characters were compelling.

Meh

Story was just ok - everything moved too slowly for me, but there were a few funny moments. Reader was great!

Adorable Book

I listened to this 12hr book in 2 days. I end up feeling like a lot of books translate into cheesy audio stories, but this one did not disappoint. Wonderful narration too.
