About this listen

If you knew then what you know now, would you make the same choices? Imagine having a second chance with the one you never forgot.

From the author of the global breakout bestseller The Last Love Note comes the story of a young woman struggling to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragic accident, and the man who gives up everything to help her.

When Evie Hudson wakes in an unfamiliar hospital room, she thinks she’s fresh out of a teenage party with her best friend, Bree. Except, Bree isn’t around anymore and high school was years ago. Evie had just survived the crash that killed her husband, Oliver—whom she can't remember either. After suffering a traumatic loss of memory, she’s left to connect the dots. But how?

Enter: Drew, a promising photographer whose chance encounter with Evie unravels the elusive details of her marriage and her husband’s death. As Drew watches Evie stitch the story of her life together, secrets emerge that might shatter both of their worlds.

This tangled second-chance romance leads Evie to question every decision she ever made. This time around, she’s seeing all the things she missed–and the life she gets to choose . . . again.

secrets and lost memories

Pictures of You by Emma Grey is a book that carried me into Evie's story from page one. We are in her hospital room with her, when she awakes after a horrific car accident. Her husband died and she is lucky to be alive. Unfortunately she thinks that she is 16 years 0ld, not 29, and doesn't remember her husband or anything about her life for the last 13 years.

The story is a slow, difficult journey with Evie -- there with her as she slowly regains her memories. When she meets Drew, it looks as though he is going to help her heal. Maybe she will even fall in love and start a new life.

The book is filled with twists and deeply held secrets. They are exposed through flashbacks, which come to Evie in sharp, surprising ways. The memories do not return all at once, aren't all happy, and are sometimes shocking. It feels very real.

I enjoyed my new friendship with Evie, and have thought about the book often in the days after finishing it.

Almost great

I enjoyed 90% of this book. I was fully invested until near the end of the book when the author threw in an over-the-top “plot twist.” It was so unnecessary to the story, and totally unbelievable. Unfortunately it really ruined the book for me.

Beautifully painful

This was a wonderful and very sad story. The narrators did an excellent job of bringing it to life. Bringing in the feelings. The agony and the love. The friendships and family. The losses. The pain of losing someone you love so deeply. The author did an expert job of making me feel all the things we are meant to feel. Of seeing the pictures and making the title fit so perfectly. This is a story of a loss. A very profound loss and an even greater finding. A true love. No strings love. No threats. Only pure priceless adoration. The way it’s meant to be.

Intricate, thought provoking but still a fun ride.

The layers of character development are deep but subtle. It is a psychological thriller about love and loss of control. Modern yet classic. I want to read more from this author.

Devotion and forgiveness

Loved the narration. Grey does such an amazing job of connecting the past to the present. Lots of layers to this story. It took me a minute to get into it but then I couldn’t stop listening. The truest friends can never be lost. Extending grace is the greatest gift that can be given. Ended too soon!
