Meet Lily Wilder: New Yorker, lawyer extraordinaire, blushing bride. And totally incapable of being faithful to one man.
Lily’s fiancé, Will, is a brilliant, handsome archaeologist. Lily is sassy, impulsive, fond of a good drink (or five), and has no business getting married. Lily likes Will, but does she love him? Will loves Lily, but does he really know her? As the wedding approaches, Lily's nights - and mornings, and afternoons - of booze, laughter, and questionable decisions become a growing reminder that the happiest day of her life might turn out to be her worst mistake yet.
Bridget Jones's Diary meets Where'd You Go, Bernadette in this joyous and ribald debut, introducing a self-assured protagonist whose choices raise fresh questions about gender, politics, monogamy, and the true meaning of fidelity.
Unapologetically sexy with the ribald humor of Bridesmaids, this joyously provocative debut introduces a self-assured protagonist you won’t soon forget.

Critic reviews
"I have not laughed this hard or this much at a book since Bridget Jones's Diary. I Take You is wickedly smart, hilariously funny, sexy, clever, and stupidly accomplished for a first novel. In short, the most enjoyable read I have had in YEARS. I completely loved it." (Jane Green, New York Times best-selling author of Tempting Fate)

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I kept waiting for the main character of the book to come to her senses but then I realized, this was a book about narcissists. The only person who seems to have had some sort of epiphany about bad behavior shows up towards the end. I only liked the main character during a single courtroom and that was because the opposing attorney was more of an ass than she was!Has I Take You turned you off from other books in this genre?
No. I believe in chick lit! What does Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She is why I got this book. I have loved her narrations of other more enjoyable books. She is just fab.Do you think I Take You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I hope not. Why would anyone care about these awful people?Unredeeming characters!!

Any additional comments?
I found this book 10,000 times sexier than 50 Shades of Gray because it was actually smart, funny, and well-written. Julia Whalen is definitely one of the best narrators out there and she nailed this part. Didn't want it to end. Great read! Finally an intelligent and funny book about women!
