About this listen

When a couple is found murdered and no suspects are apparent, 55-year-old empty-nester Kate Wise, after a 30-year career with the FBI, finds herself called out of retirement and her quiet suburban life to come back and work for the bureau.

Kate’s brilliant mind and unrivaled ability to enter the mind of serial killers is just too indispensable, and the FBI needs her to crack this baffling case. Why were two couples found murdered 50 miles apart and in the same manner? What can they possibly have in common?

The answer, Kate realizes, is urgent - as she is certain the killer is about to strike again.

But in the deadly game of cat and mouse that follows, Kate, entering the dark canals of the killer’s twisted mind, may just find herself a moment too late.

An action-packed thriller with heart-pounding suspense, If She Saw is audiobook number two in a riveting new series that will leave you listening late into the night.

monotonous tone of the narrator

needs to have a different narrator... love this author but needs someone else reading these stories.

First Time reader of Pierce & Bannister

Thanks for making this book available in English and French. The subject matter was current as was the style of speaking, making it easy for me to learn the French vocabulary when comparing the two books.

The characters

After reading the first two books of this series I can say I greatly enjoy them so far. Four aspects stand out to me. First the narration is perfect. Then the characters are relatable and lovable from Kate all through her partner, friends, and family life. Kate's struggle in the first book to get out of the boredom routine of retirement and her hunger for the excitement again added a great subplot to the mystery at hand. The second book showed us the struggle between her balancing her personal life with her career life. I really enjoyed those relatable subplots. And finally the story itself. The mysteries were captivating and to get into the minds of the killers themselves. I can't say too much without spoilers, but I ca say I loved the first two books and look forward to reading more.

Sounds like robot

The storyline is excellent, but Mrs. Bannister sounds like a robot and the end of every sentence slams a wall. I listened to book 1 and overcame the voiceover because it’s a good story. Book 2.. I was hoping Bannister would settle in to the characters, but no. Geez. It’s awful. Inflection goes a long way …. Not trying to be mean at all, just a little constructive criticism.

Soft story

The story felt incomplete as if Blake lost track of the characters. The main story needed to develop more. I read his books all the time and this wasn’t up to par for me.
The reader needs to learn what a period means. Her voice seemed to remain the same throughout.

Disappointed

The story felt half-hearted, like a late night 30 minute drama. No character development, written as if the first attempt by a novice writer. Sorry, but I expect more than paint by numbers.
