About this listen

Megastar Tam Eyre has no idea what to do with the crumpled note thrown at his head: "If you don't love me, we both die."

Bubble-tea-obsessed college girl Lakelynn Frost has 365 days to make the world's most famous pop star fall in love with her. If she can't do it, an old family curse will kill them both.

It might be a problem since she can't get tickets to any of his sold-out concerts.

Should Lake chase after him with only her grumbly brother Joules for company? Check items off her bucket list like Uncle Jack? Plan her own funeral like Aunt Clara?

But Lake's a fighter. And this curse? It comes with magical meet-cutes.

Please note this is Part One of If You Don't Love Me We Both Die, an MF contemporary romance with a sprinkle of magic. Expect sexy, swoony tension, slow-burn spice, strong secondary couple/side character romance, characters in their twenties, and sunshine in a cup. It is a standalone told from first-person dual POV. Narrated in duet style.

The ending is disrespectful.

How you leave the book on cliff hanger like that?!Knowing I am going to get the second book, it is so good I expected it be PG but there is a few steamy scenes. I love the innocence and storyline of each character. Also the voice actors shined with making each character more intriguing… especially Jules

Slow burn, all the feels, part 1 of 2

This is a contemporary romance with a dash of paranormal in the form of fated / cursed soul mates. Quirky FMC, guarded MMC.
It is so well written (by a real human with no AI) that I cried at parts. Rom-com vibe but all the feels. Great character development but even better plot.

My favorite author

This one was different the her usual RH that I’ve read. It was slower but in a good way. I wasn’t ready for the cliffhanger lol but that just means I’m ready for book 2.

Is this part one??

I love this book and have been waiting for the audio version. I am just trying to figure out what happened that the “end” is NOT the end!! Is this part one of two? A release that is incorrect in its total content?

characters sound just like I thought they would.

I love this book..I own the book itself and was super excited to get the audiobook as well. What I don't like is that I pre-ordered the book thinking it was the entire book but it was half of it and it didn't say that. Now I have to buy another part of this book when IT IS ONE BOOK! I'm annoyed. love the book, love the author, so freaking annoyed with the splitting of the book and it not being known.

Book 1 (Wow)

Plot: Boba obsessed Lakelynn Frost (h) is the victim of a family curse, if she doesn't get a guy randomly-selected-by-fate to love her in 365 days she'll die. Unfortunately, the mate the universe has chosen is Tam Eyre (H), a totally inaccessible, international pop star. Knowing the odds are against her, she (and her brother Joules) drop everything to follow his tour, and try and shoot her shot with this mega celebrity. There's also a sad subplot running through the book about the generations of their family that have done this before, and about the deep grief for the members that have failed and died.

So, a woman of my age probably shouldn’t have identified so hard with this book. But as a 'fan' who once trailed after a celebrity over three continents on and off for 3 years, this book is my spirit animal. Crazy I know, but true. And with all the very specific pop culture references, and ethnic references, it was just Bellissimo. Chef's kiss. 💯. This author has also got the nature of celebrity down pat. If you've met one, you know that these people are so tunnel visioned and so guarded that it’s almost an illness, that’s what our hero Tam was like. But, with some creative stalking and tons of effort Lakelynn veeeery slowly cracks his shell. It soon becomes obvious how childlike and repressed this pop icon is, which is very sweet. The man was such a baby foal on shaky legs.

Of course there are cons, this book starts off as an extended 'no burn', then it's a 'slooooooow burn' that puts Mariana Zapata to shame. For a long time all the important conversations kept getting interrupted with internal monologue. Pretty sure it was on purpose, you're supposed to feel thwarted and know your bones how impossible this quest is. You may start to doubt it's even a romance. Nothing physical goes down between the H/h for at least 14hrs. By the very end of this book, the MC's inner monologues still insist they don’t know each other. So if that kind of halting progress makes you crazy, this book isn’t for you. But I resonated so strongly with the topic that I had to give it a high rating. I've never felt so seen.

Also, it's weird that this is about a family from Arkansas. Am I the only one who was looking forward to a good K-pop romp? What's with all these super asian southern white folk?
